So, your saying roll over and play dead? That is how this state got this way. Did you really think individuals like this were going to just roll over? There is a lot wrong with what they passed; the social media account is one of them.

Agreed. No, I am not saying "roll over". I am saying take your guns and tax dollars and hit the high road. Move to a real "free state.". Places like NY, CA, MD, HI, MA....don't want us. Unequivocal that we are not welcome.

An oversimplification that is not practical for me, and likely not practical for many others. Fortunately/unfortunately, there is more to living than the 2A.

I have family here for centuries. In fact, they stole ("annexed") a lot of our family's farm property to build BWI. My mom is in her 80s, infirm and I need to be close enough to deal with things.

I have a decent job here that I could not duplicate elsewhere. Maybe the title, but not the working conditions, nor the salary.

I have many friends here, and I'm old enough to know that when friends move far away, it is all too easy to drift apart.

I LIKE it here, except for the rapidly expanding population, and except for the political climate, which I have spent many years, hours and dollars trying to change. Reasonable climate, decent fishing & hunting, convenient shopping, myriad eateries.

Finally, many states that are quick to issue CCWs also have disadvantages. Some have laws that are oppressive in other ways, like "No C-III toys", etc. and/or are heavily populated. Many states that have more permissive laws and lower populations also have what I perceive as big disadvantages, like sub-zero winter weather for weeks/months at a time or extremely hot summers, and sometimes both, or mountains that are not kind to old guys.

Then for obvious reasons, yourself, and many other people acknowledge the trade off. Agree, Maryland, despite its horrible political climate and infestation with moon bats, is by all accounts a decent place to live in general. I was quite fond of Frederick, Carrol, and Washington counties not to mention the beauty of western Maryland and even some of the communities in northern MoCo. People have to pick and choose what they want. Born and raised in VA, never considered myself a Marylander so moving back was always the goal.

Yeah, you aren't wrong. No matter how bad crime gets, most people are still more afraid of what the government will do. Because no matter how bad crime gets, the government is still the bigger threat to our safety and liberty. And that is a serious, serious problem that if not corrected at some point may get bad enough that our friend Muleskinner's dream may become a reality.

For a long long time you've been pushing and shaming for folks NOT taking up arms. Yet, as far as I know you haven't become Henry Bowman. Seriously, war is not good. A civil war is going to be worse. This country is becoming more gun friendly year after year. I feel the tide turning and have some hope that other infringements to our liberty will also continue to be corrected. The cartridge box is the LAST box. It will be ugly. And the good guys might not win. The legal method, while slow and frustrating and often times counterproductive, is still the higher percentage road to our freedom.

I don't know you, but given your pushing of everyone to arms, yet not doing anything yourself, I swear you are an agent provocateur, looking to incite some crazy gun people to some crazy act so the country can look on and say "OMG! We've got to get rid of these crazy gun people!"

    Good article ...

The only "good news" is that this extreme list of TPM restrictions stands an excellent chance of receiving a temporary injunction while the actual case winds its way through the courts.

My thoughts exactly. If the district court won’t, I cannot imagine the appeals court won’t issue an injunction.

Sure you are. The more people that run and don’t fight unconstitutional laws just means that the states they run to will eventually be taken over faster by liberals. Colorado used to be conservative, Texas is being changed and in another 5-10 years may flip.

My point is that this article succinctly lays out all of the crappy restrictions that they threw into it - including the kitchen sink. Food for thought for those who support the Second Amendment.

I wonder what is said or will be said of those with little to no social media profiles? I have no Facebook, or LinkedIn, or instagram or twitter or any other social media account what so ever. There is a reason for that?

Now I understand they are using good moral character now. But I think it’s going to be a lot harder for them to disprove good moral character then prove you don’t have good cause.

Yes it’s still subjective. But if say hypothetically speaking every single person in the state were to apply for a permit. Are they really willing to say that the majority of New Yorkers don’t have good moral character?

That would be an awesome joke for Saturday Night Live! Majority of New Yorkers found not to have good moral character! New Yorkers lack good moral character! Lol

Penalizing someone for not using social media to communicate would be a wonderful 1A lawsuit.

It isn't simply a matter of where people are moving to. That is one component of it. Part of it is that the political demographics are just changing. In terms of those growing up and turning 18 or acquiring citizenship or changing their party affiliation later in life, a larger percentage of them identify as liberals than conservatives.

Until they start earning enough to own something of their own like a home.

Once they realize that they have something worth protecting, they get conservative for some reason.
