I already have a couple of decent carry automatic but I would love to have a snubby revolver in 357 Magnum. Shrouded hammer but not DA only. Something small that can be easily concealed in a pocket like in a hoodie. I haven't purchased the handgun in Maryland since the hql went into effect and I don't own any revolvers currently. I'm going to have to do some research

I picked up a Sig P365 and a Springfield Hellcat a recently because I couldn’t decide between the two. Personally, the Hellcat is growing on me a little more than the P365 - I like the sights better.

Honestly, The Hellcat Sights and the low mounted SMSC has ruined me for all other irons/optic set ups. I am trying to "re-create" this on a CZ P-01

If it is on your waist, does it really matter if it has a shake awake feature? It's going to be on all the time anyway. Shake awake would seem to be useful for HD, but not for CC.

Maybe for some turning on in am out the door and turning off when returning home is ok and that’s fine. I just like one less thing to think about and there are definitely times during the day it’ll shut off.

I think they still make a 6 shot version in .327. Honestly, SP101 is pretty heavy. That may not be as big of a deal in a good holster, but I bought an LCR because my SP101 was very cumbersome in a pocket. Supposedly .357 mag suffers performancewise from the short barrel, especially compared to .38sp+p that is specifically designed for short barrels. I've even heard that 9mm has about the best performance in 2" or less barrels.

Just sold a Ruger Security-Six snubby a couple of weeks ago...that would have done you very well. I think a very good revolver to look at would be the Colt King Cobra Carry model (2" with bobbed hammer) or the King Cobra 3". Both are .357 and have excellent triggers with fixed rear sights and interchangeable front sights.

I also have a Colt Lawman Mark III 2" snubby .357 in like new condition...but as good a revolver as it is these fine magnums have passed into collectible territory more than practical carry guns...which is unfortunate.

Irons fail, too. Seen it happen multiple times. Especially prevalent with fancier Glock front sights with short screws, but any impact can do it, really.

Personally, if I'm going to carry a gun to save my life, in the rare event that I need to do that, I want the best gun I can carry on me. How much is your life worth? I plan on carrying a Sig AXG Scorpion with a Romeo2 initially, because that's a gun and optic combo 1)I trust and 2) can do very good work with.

Holosun shake to wake (pretty much any movement) and a solar panel to accent the battery, I run these on my 3 22/45’s. My next Glock will have the slide cut for this optic.

I'm not getting anything new at the moment, however as soon as my brother fully processed the court ruling last month he bought a P320 X-Carry in .45.

I'd suggest you consider the new Colt python with the 3" barrel.

Not cheap, not tiny, but a snubby 357 is probably not a great carry choice, IMO of course. But it's a great revolver.

The original python snubs are serious money these days.

10 years experience carrying, mainly in the FL heat.

Comfort and Concealment are the #1 and #1A factors. Yes, you need to be accurate with it and comfortable with whatever recoil it has as well. But if it’s not comfortable you WILL NOT CARRY IT. If it’s comfortable but Prints out……YOU CAN’T CARRY IT.

Current Recommendations:

Sig P365 :
owned for 3 years now…love this, pocket carry occasionally, IWB other times. Mine has been dead nuts reliable. Easy to clean etc…

Glock 48:
owned for about 1 year now…my go too right now, basically a Glock 19 that’s slim and fits my hands better, thus better control and concealment

Other recs:

P365 XL

Glock 43X (Glock 48 with shorter barrel, which makes it harder to conceal as it wants to protrude out…if you get one carry it in a Glock 48 holster to fix that issue)

Hellcat: similar to p365 but more snappy

Glock 19: great pistol, better for cold weather carry in my opinion

I've had carry pieces for years. Since I've carried out-of-state for many years I use different guns depending on need. I've settled on Sig P365 as a primary but I bought an XL a couple months ago to take that role. But have holsters for Sig P225 and P220 and I carried a full frame P220 .45 for years.

So I have no plans to obtain a celebratory carry gun. But I have bought celebratory guns for Bruen in general. I think a BAR and Sig P320 Equinox fit the bill rather nicely!

I'll probably start out using a Glock 19 but I may be looking into a Sig P365XL shortly!

I've got some options for now if/when I get a permit (which sadly probably won't be till fall, assuming MSP then doesn't hold it up for months and months).

G19 when I can pack larger or OC (tons of stuff for OC, but frankly the 19 is likely what I'd take unless I was expecting trouble or in bear territory. Then the G17 or 21 respectively would be taken). Or a Cz82 or Cz50 if I need something slightly smaller or a fair amount smaller. Ideal on that last one? No. But it'll fit in a large pocket and both the 82 and 50 fit in my shoulder holster just fine and a Walther PP kydex IWB probably would fit the Cz50 just fine.

Eventually I will look for something smaller and new suitable for EDC. But that's likely to be awhile from now. I want a W&C just to make transporting handguns less of a PITD, as well as for camping/hiking. I rarely go places I feel any need for a concealed handgun, so EDC isn't much of a concern for me.
