Nations Gun Show @ Dulles Expo June 17-19th 2022

Parking was packed. Went with wife and oldest son. Got some powder from Medusa Joe and not much else for myself. C&R items so much harder to find at a fair price.

I got there around 1430 after having a good time at the Aviation Museum.

I have to say, Medusa Munitions were the most reasonable prices in the show. For instance, Hornady 55gn FMJ was $15 at their table and $35 at another. I got a pound of H110 for $38 and two other people were selling it over $50. Primers at Mary and Joe's table were $114 per thousand. The other tables were selling them for $150 and $162 per thousand.

Like Melnic, I only took home 1 pound of powder. I'm glad I didn't make the drive just for the gun show. BTW, there were five accidents on 495 as we drove home. The average mph must have been 20-25 at best.

I happened to be dropping my wife off at Dulles so went right after by 4pm. I parked up front easily and went in a got some mags and some stuff for my retro AR build I’m doing. Then I got back timely enough to pick my Son up coming back from beach week.

I went up to work the MSI table Saturday afternoon. Not too packed. Usual selection (meaning everybody had pretty much the same stuff). Bought some fudge and a few mags.

I just don't get excited about Gun Shows anymore. It's like going to an expensive retailer when you can go online and get a better price. Nothing but insane pricing on guns and ammunition. Dealers jack up all their prices for gun shows and it's where people get ripped off the most.

yep it's a shame. gun shows used to be cheaper but no more.

The big problem isn't prices, it's the lack of variety. Every dealer is selling the same stuff...1911s, Glocks, clones of Glocks, ARs, and AKs. I was looking for one of the new Browning .22 rifles with a threaded barrel...no soap. And that's not an exotic.

we drove up into Maryland to pick up an estate Sat after the show,

took almost an hour to get to the river, then another hour to get to the place (just west of Baltimore)

nightmare traffic,, but typical, apparently, for a Sat afternoon/evening,

picked up a MG and some other stuff a couple years ago in the Silver Spring area and that was a 90 minute drive in the winter,,,


for us, it was a good show , considering
considering meaning the June show is usually the slowest (graduations, vacation, and lots of competition as far as how to spend a day when the sun is out)
