Normally, I suggest Delta Steel for Harford folks to start at (the next one is 5/22), but it looks like you found that already ;) . The Associated Gun Clubs of Baltimore (AGC) is about an hour away and has a lot of action shooting. Their falling steel match is pretty newbie friendly...just make sure you bring enough ammo (I'd say at least 40 rounds in magazines for each stage...there are usually six). The next one of those...is also 5/22 :rolleye12

After Delta Peach Bottom, next one about 45 min.s away would be Oxford Gun Club. They do 22 only steel plate on the 3rd saturday of the month. And also a pistol caliber shoot on the 4th Saturday. I am also in Bel Air.

Thank you a lot. I’ll look into that and I’ll have to start going to back to Delta Steel. It’s been a few years.

If you want to shoot sanctioned Steel Challenge matches the best place right now is the Thurmont Conservation and Sportsmens Club. They shoot a full 8 stage match on the first Sat. of the month (and sometimes Sunday also) and shoot 4 stages matches in the evening on the Wednesdays before and after the weekend match.

Came to post that. In fact they had a 4 stage last night. Next full stage is Saturday, June 18th.

I've really been interested in steel shot challenge as well. Even getting ready to purchase a 2011 to run and gun! I appreciate finding all this info!

I shot a match at Delmarva. It was nice. I'm looking for more Steel Challenge matches to shoot. I have a competition going with my Brother in Mississippi and he has matches to shoot in every weekend very close. So, I need to get some more in the books to hold my lead.

Yes, at Thurmont we are having a full 8-Stage Steel Challenge match this Saturday, June 18th. This month we won't have to share the bays with another discipline so we will be running all 8 stages simultaneously with 8 squads. We already have 5 squads filled. Practiscore registration closes tomorrow evening but walk-ons are welcome, too. Just if you're a walk-on please arrive by 8am.
