I wouldn't worry about that too much, I mean I finally shot that LTT 1301 and the front sight was loose and every screw on the CROM mount was loose after about 20 rounds. All three mounting screws and the both windage adjustment screws were hanging, very lucky not to lose any.
In this case, it wasn't a loose screw so much as a poor decision by the manufacturer to not use a detent on it. However, the reality is that I'm probably going to put an optic on it anyways, probably with a Scalarworks Sync. Ghost ring is nice, but nothing beats a red dot.

Im loving the Aridus CROM on the the 1301. I did remount it and locktite it.

I have the rob haught mod, so the ghost ring is cut off halfway, and is perfect cowitness with the RMR. Gives ghost ring accuracy, with a clear red dot sight picture. Loving it. I absolute cowitness everything I can.

I ran the SDS S4 all day at a Green Ops shotgun class today. About 200 rounds, straight mix of buck and bird. The buckshot was cheap Estate 00 with a few rounds of FFC 8 pellet mixed in. The birdshot was all over the place - Federal, Winchester, and Remington, and a total mix of size/speed/etc.

The SDS S4 was modified with a Benelli extractor and spring, and with a Mesa Urbino stock. No optics. It ran 100%. And not the "forum 100%" where once-in-a-while failures are chalked up as shouldering issues. This thing ran 100%. Not a single failure all day. Outperformed a couple of the 1301s there in that respect.

When I pulled out the action for inspection after class, it was perfect. No visible peening of the pistons or the bolt carrier. Gun itself wasn't even all that dirty.

The only things I think were a problem:
    1. I am about 99% certain the rear sight elevation was moving on me. I am not sure what the fix is, except maybe putting in a true Benelli M4 rear sight. In the meantime, when you zero it, I'd absolutely paint a witness mark.
    2. The loading port edges were sharp. A little dehorning would go a long way.
Good to hear. I am seriously considering buying one after the holidays

I have this beautiful Winchester 97 on layaway. The serial number dates it to 1908.
