I am an assistant scoutmaster for a troop in Columbia. I am an NRA rifle instructor,(got credentials solely for the purposes of instructing scouts). We are putting together a weekend trip to Broad Creek for shooting sports. We have the use of the range and rifles at Broad Creek, I have ammo, what I could use are a few RSOs and perhaps a pistol instructor that is willing to work for food and my undying gratitude
and not much else for a good cause.
This would be on Saturday June 5. I have several parents that have either a law enforcement or military background but they don't have official credentials that would make BSA happy.
My plan is to do the safety training at a troop meeting the week before, a second safety briefing on Sat. morning then time on range. I am waiting on approval for having other than .22 rifles and handguns for older/ venture scouts to be able to experience, hence the request for a pistol instructor.
Any volunteers?
I have already ordered first steps rifle packets and we will pay for any other training materials necessary.
