My apologies to those still behind enemy lines , I love living in the America from the days I grew up in. Vote with your feet

The problem is that the Kalifornians are also voting with their feet and will eventually ruin every other state.

Just got ye 'olde septic pumped today. My guy said that with everyone being home we're harder on it than we've ever been. No problems (which means no big expenses coming up), but he did say he's been the busiest he's ever been because of everyone being home.

Wow. Sorry I missed this thread up until now. I was going to happily say I got my ham radio license, but that’s pretty bland compared to all the great posts on here. LOL

You better get your license before the FCC starts charging $50 for it. Look around on Google or the ARRL’s website to get more info on it. Basically, the FCC is proposing $50 per license issue, $50 per license renewal, and $50 for a vanity call.

You guys with the license, what are you actually doing with it? Are you just randomly signing on and talking to people far away?

I get the purpose of the emergency but for everyday value are you guys just treating it like a phone chat line?

I’m asking honestly and not knocking, just curious.

Yeah. BS and talk about radios mostly. The Brits are always fun to talk to - great sense of humor. I once hit the Saudi Arabia while I was driving down the beltway (I have a mobile unit).

E-mail while on the road using either VHF or HF, depending on what stations are in range.

    BS on the local repeaters.

    Mesh networks for internet surfing.

    Contesting, local, state, national, international.

Used to keep tabs with dad on HF from Maryland to Ohio.

    Now in Tennessee ,
Just a heads up , I read on FOX Business News that stores are putting limits on certain products , TP , Paper towels , hand soap , disinfectant products , Kroger started Publix and others are following , They are trying to prevent empty shelves ahead of the fall wave of Covid . So plan accordingly , I'm going to a little just to top off .

I ran by Sams Club today to grab something for work and checked the TP and paper towels just because.

Giant by me is stacked!!!! Some Spanish brand 8 rolls for $3. I didn’t buy any but it’s there.

Roger that. I’m not starting any panic talk just saying that there are still some inventory issues around town.
