I've been saving for quite a while now and was deciding whether to buy a nice Remington 700 or an AR and decided to go with the AR this year. I have done a lot of reading here and elsewhere and think I'm going to go with the following. I would really appreciate any comments or suggestions if I have made any mistakes.
1.) LaRue stealth upper, 16 inch barrel, 12 inch handguard
2.) LaRue billet lower
3.) I'm looking at troy folding battle sights but having a hard time deciding if they are worth 200 bucks.
4.) One of these lower build kits from palmetto that were in a group buy thread:
a.) Mil-Spec MOE Stock, MOE grip, MOE Trigger Guard, CMMG Lowers Parts Kit and Mil-Spec buffer tube assembly.
b.) Includes Mil-Spec CTR Stock, MIAD Full Grip Kit , MOE Trigger Guard, Daniel Defense Lower Parts Kit and Mil-Spec buffer tube assembly.
5.) optics will have to wait for now.
For now the rifle will be for fun, shooting mostly up to 200 yards and hopefully for some beginner competition matches.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
