    That's interesting. If the barrell that I have states that it is suitable for the .223 round but it's not able to chamber correctly how would one know without sending a round through it that it will not be safe? Is there a trick?

    That's a good way to end up with face full of metal and missing an eye or 2 and a few less fingers. You should at least tie it to an old tire and run a long string to the trigger and fire the first 10 rounds that way.

    Since the thread has gone to the crapper.
    What do you think about my deer rifle?
    I used a laser bore to sight her and she is on the point.

    Looking forward to using her again next season.
