It would be a stretch to attribute much of the anti-gun sentiment to Asperger's.

google is your friend, I am not.
Definitely not. I know quite a number of people who are high functioning and are gun people. In fact, one sign is that people "collect volumes of detailed information on a relatively narrow topic" which describes most people on MDS. :lol2:

Some people are "Used" & "Abused" regardless of health or diagnosis , it is a shame and borderlines criminal . I pray that she gets help and the people that are using her are held accountable .

I don't buy it. I know 2 people with Asperger's and both enjoy shooting.

I think it’s more of a matter of them projecting.

They know they are too unstable to be trusted with a gun, so they think that everyone else is as well.

I’m a victim of gun violence but you don’t see me blaming the gun. I know to never shoot 3” buckshot through my braced Tac-14. Ouch! I’m a survivor though!

I came across that thread describing Greta Thuneberg's actions. The characteristics seem to explain the basis of the belief system of many of the rabid gun grabbers I've encountered - high functioning autism (aka Aspregers). What do you think?

    https://twitter.com/bearshrugged/st...-of-greta-thunberg-is-particularly-egregious/

One trip to /k/ should teach you that there are reams of people with autism who have no problems whatsoever with gun ownership and the 2nd amendment.

I'm not Bill, nor a mind reader .

BUT , I * think * he's pointing out how Spectrum could be playing out in this and other specific high profile instences

Spectrum people generally have as wide a range of opinions as nerotypicals .

You ARE a mind reader - you read my mind!

It could be just one of MANY possible causes. I'd love to see Bloomberg's JHU Medical Paper Mill do a study on that.

    Now please do carry on...

I don't see Asperger's in that at all. Folks like that are generally pretty bright, and logical, and are comfortable with rules. They research things.

Gun-grabbers don't seek information to guide their beliefs.

And one trip to /b/ will make you abandon all hope for the future of humanity. ;)

OP, I highly doubt it. As others have pointed out, folks with Asperger's are far more interested in facts and knowledge. Also, folks with Asperger's tend to internalize their feelings and don't get all outwardly emotional like most Antis do.

If anything, I'd guess that many antis are overly empathetic in nature which is why they "feel" as strongly as they do whereas non-neurotypical folks on the spectrum tend to have sympathetic feelings more than empathetic which allows them to keep a reasonable emotional distance from the situation giving them the ability to put facts and truth before feelings.

Both her parents and her grandfather are actors. Her speech was a scripted act just like peanut butter falcon.
