A big hello to the MS community. Thought i'd start things off with a hypothetical question for my first post. We all know of the recent, (and sadly repeating) news cycle involving criminal multiple murder shootings and the resulting threat to lawful gun owners and our 2nd amendment rights. This cycle includes all the typical calls for banning this, going after that, why someone needs so and so, these shouldn't be in the hands of....., so on and so forth. Today a question popped up in my head, as a Maryland non business owner resident who has no conceivable chance of acquiring a carry permit, would I give up my right to own certain types of the evil bad black kind of weapons in exchange for the implementation of national constitutional carry rights? the question bothered me some as my immediate thought was no way, "give an inch they'll take a mile", but as the day wore on and the thought of waking up tomorrow with the fully recognized right to bear and carry in public with no restrictions and few if any gun free zones I admit to feeling quite uneasy that I might could be convinced to make the deal. So the question is Would You? or Would you not? Again, not a proposition just a hypothetical question if the option was on the table.

They have already taken from you, and you haven't noticed. You want to give them more of your freedom?

So I'm looking out the back window today and I see a squirrel laying flat on it's belly on the deck rail. I mean it had it's legs over either side like it was on a surf board. And I'm thinking to myself that looks pretty comfortable but then I remembered, it's like 82 deg. outside and that rail had probably been baking in the sun all morning.

Nope, put nationwide constitutional carry in place and let it run for a few years and then evaluate how it's affected the country. My bet is fewer mass shootings because a good guy drops the shooter. They've already tried and keep trying to push their options and never consider ours they need to lose once.

Interesting question, Ill follow up with another.
If I'm walking down the rd going.....just say fox hunting in Dorchester Co. I have a hunting license, fur bearing permit etc. Even written permission for the spot I'm going to and on one particular day I want to hunt with a pistol. How do I get the firearm (pistol) there without concealing it while I'm on foot?

    It's a false choice.

You give up your "evil" black guns in exchange to carry and eventually they will suspend and take away your carry right (which they already consider a "privilege"). Taking "carry" away would be simpler that taking your guns as no property is being taken so they would be no 5th Amendment issue of just compensation.

One in the hand, Two in the bush?

They will take all three. Don't give the first for free.

Forget about this, and create a proper introduction in the introduction section. Tell us about who you are, where and what you shoot so we are less likely to suspect that you are on Bloomberg's payroll.
