Please forgive me. The "light at the end of the tunnel" hit me the wrong way during my first cup of coffee this morning.

I really hope that SCOTUS does grant cert in this case. Somewhere i bet Herr Frosh is hoping that SCOTUS does not grant cert because if they do grant it, he knows his power over the little people in Marylandstain might be almost over plus not to mention that his minions in the MSP Lic division will be really unhappy as well but then think about it, they have been brainwashed for so long by their leadership that the common man carrying firearms is bad bad... Is the head of MSP and the command of the Lic Division to stupid to see that they are helping to infringe upon our rights ?? They really need a good wake up call and i am afraid it will take SCOTUS telling them they were lied to all along by their upper command... starting with Herr Frosh.

Well... that was an enjoyable read.

So for those of us to whom this process is still a bit opaque: what happens next, both in practical terms and timeline-wise? Make popcorn now, or wait until New Years or such?

In other words, when should we start holster shopping?

Presumably it goes to a conference very soon, then Scotus decides to grant, deny, or send it to another conference.
Since 2 other cases are on hold for NYSRPA, my guess is this case also waits for that to be decided. That case gets argued before SCOTUS in the fall with decision June 2020 at the latest. Then these other cases get sent back to lower courts and told to follow NYSRPA reasoning.

We wait two weeks (is this still a bad joke?)

I still do not trust John Roberts to follow the COTUS rather than his personal and political beliefs.

Suspicion lingers around some of his decisions; would he survive the sort of grilling imposed on Justice Kavanaugh, if he had to face Congress today?

The future of the 2nd Amendment, and by projection the liberties it is meant to protect, is far too important to be trusted to a court that still operates as a politicised, semi-legislative body. I only hope he proves me wrong.

I’m hoping Thomas puts the fear of God unto him.

google is your friend, I am not.
Supreme Court took NYSRPA. 4 people would not have voted to grant cert without a good idea where the 5th vote was. That's why we saw a lot of denials when Kennedy was on the bench. Now we have 1 outright grant and 2 cases on hold pending NYSRPA. I used to be unsure who the wobbly justice was, now I am sure it was Kennedy.

You asked the right question, IMO. And my answer is:

They don't care, as long as their check clears and they can enjoy THEIR guns. Because they live in a carve out. And they will continue to "follow orders" until they are ordered to do otherwise.

If this was not the case, they would be actively aligned with us in the open, on the pavement. One need look no farther than Venezuela to see the proof.

I have zero faith that John Roberts will do the right thing.
