Just got this in, fantastic customer service. Perfect out of the box and built for more serious work than I'll probably ever use it for.

What does the series of scallops in the blade do? Just wondering if there is a functional role. Nice use of the MDS sticker.

Not sure, probably just a style thing. I'm ambivalent about them at this point. But, it flips perfectly, is rock solid and I love the button lock.

Looks like a solid knife. Certainly eye catching. Your and Z's recent stimulus in this thread got me shopping again. Almost went in for the ZT deal you recently posted.

Well you have until Tuesday IIRC to jump on the deal. I figured if I didn't like it I could always flip it for at least what I had in it. Good reviews on it FWIW so figure I'll like it well enough.

Great photography, Z. HK always knows how to make a good looking handgun. That GT too, can't wait for mine to arrive.

Congrats! I realize that it's maybe too 'tacticool' for some folks but, I bought it more on the reputation of the designer, the complex grind of the blade and the multiple ways it can be deployed. The fact that it looks badass is just a bonus. I'm finally starting to get decent with the spidey-flick with the center hole in the blade and the action...whoa...it's like butter. :D

I never had an interest in fixed blade knives but my son and I saw these last week in Georgia and I just had to start collecting something else. They were made by Jim Craig who has a local following in that area. I think the top knife handle is maple burl and it's 9.5", the 2nd one down is armadillo shell and the bottom two are pine cone. Not a bad start.

Not a bad start at all! Those are really nice! Congrats!

I just did a search for Jim Craig knives. He's got a web site but doesn't list current inventory so those knives must be made in very small quantities.

I hear ya on the 'collecting something else' part, too. I'm pretty burned-out on firearms at the moment and knives seem to satisfy the urge to collect and admire things I also consider 'industrial' works of art.

This is my only Cyber Monday-week pick-up: Bastinelli/Lion Steel Raptor. Inbound from VA. Should be here by Wednesday.

MAAAAANN, thanks a lot. Now I'll be researching industrial art for many weeks to come!

LOL You're welcome. I find that if I tell myself that, it makes blowing the $ and Hilton points on Amazon a little bit easier to reconcile.

Knife shopping is awesome and I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I apparently do. I can easily kill 2-3 hours, or and even longer, if I'm looking for something specific. For example, I had been wanting something from Lion Steel ever since 2SAM22 posted a pic of his Kur a few weeks ago but, didn't know that they were also partners with Bastinelli Creations, known mainly for their tactical blades and accessories. I was within a few clicks of purchasing a Lion Steel Kur for myself when the Bastinelli 'RED' folder (above) popped-up on my recommended list and after an hour of reading-up and watching reviews on YouTube in English, French and Italian (with subtitles) I switched the Kur for the Bastinelli RED.
