    Buyer from MD, seller from NC. Is there anything that needs to happen paperwork wise to transfer the gun to me?

    Looking to finalize this asap

    if buyer and seller reside in different states, a FFL MUST be involved, no face to face, a background check is mandatory. if this is a long gun, you should be able to go down there, meet at a ffl and have the ffl run a background check on you and take possession of the gun there (as long as everything is legal in both MD and NC). if a handgun, basically the seller has to ship to (or bring to) a MD FFL and you go there for paperwork and background check.
