Needed a break from work and the news and dedicated most of the day to preparing for some shootin at PNTC this spring.

Built a carpeted tray to set my Mec 9000 in to keep the spilled shot and powder contained.

Also showing the press mounting management system I built - adapted fro YouTube ideas. Seems good so far...

Very nice!! Love the coated bullet colors!

Just yesterday was listening to an episode of the reloading podcast, and they were talking about squib loads and saying that the on the 550 it is easy to mess up and produce a squib load, so be careful!

Made up a mount for my Single Stage press. Wanted to raise it up a little without paying $60 for the fabricated ones. Made this one out of a 4inch PVC plug ($3) and a truck Winch Bracket ($6) from Harbor Frieght. Loaded up some 30-06 for the Garand. Works like a champ.

Finished up with some 9mm on the Progressive.

I don't see how unless you don't pay attention to your powder hopper. Very easy to double charge though. Once you get used to your own style, pretty much no problem. I did 500 rounds in a couple days. That would have taken me a coupe weeks on my 'Chucker'.

The didn’t explain but I assumed it was due to not paying attention, or getting interrupted perhaps. They said something about getting into a groove, which I can relate to. Repetitive actions can become almost hypnotic, and you think you’re paying attention but aren’t somehow.

When I’ve loaded hundreds of rounds on a single stage for example, I’ve ended up with empty cases after the expanding/powder drop phase. Maybe 1 or 2 in 100. That’s why I spend several minutes visually inspecting a batch before beginning to seat the bullets, and then again as I seat each individual one.

On the other hand, on my lnl ap press, I’ve never had even one squib, and can load about 200 in an hour if there are no glitches - that’s without an automatic case feeder, and only a manual bullet feeder.

Loaded up 400 rds, .45acp, 185gr Berry's SWC. I am liking this load in my 1911. 4.3gr Ramshot Competition, 1.198" COL, Federal 150 primer.

I also cleaned up my bench, which wasn't all that dirty. It is actually the cleanest and most organized area in our house.

This past week I loaded about 500 rounds of 9mm. Xtreme 124 gr plated bullets, 5.0 gr CFE Pistol, CCI small pistol primers, mixed cases but mostly Herters. Have 1400 rounds loaded and in my safe. I usually shoot about 200 rounds n a range trip.

Just got my Redding Type S Bushing die for my .204 Ruger. Had been using RCBS competition dies but they produced too much run out. Prepped 20 cases and looks like I'll have the .0015" neck tension I was looking for with the .224 bushing. Hope this reduces the ES and vertical dispersion out past 300 yds. The paper will tell.
