Sorry but this guy in florida is very different. His mental health is trivial compared to his making CRIMINALLY actionable specific threats.

I've read the Sandy Hook report front to back and back to front, there is nothing that rises to the level of incompetence by federal law enforcement or any law enforcement that these Florida murders appears to. there was no felony level specif threat made by Lanza.

Lanza, like Aurora, involved third parties who knew of severe dangers and who should have acted (Mrs Lanza, and Holmes psychiatrist), but this florida case looks to be is utterly Keystone cops behavior by law enforcement, specifically the FBi itself.

None of those nuts should have been on the streets with us, none, period. No matter who knew what

Have you lost a family member killed by a nut with a gun? Get back to me when you have

Nuts should not be out walking freely among ya, period.

No, I haven't. But I know there are things I would not do to bring that family member back, like sacrificing another family member that did not pass your ideological or other standards.

Hunterjjd, when I was in High School there was a great deal of access to guns. I had many friends that had rifles and shotguns sitting in their bedroom closet. Even so, mass shootings in schools was unheard of, even in high crime neighborhoods. This is not simply a matter of gun control.

Back in the late 60’s early 70’s you thought nothing of seeing us teens walking down the street with a hunting rifle or shotgun. This was in rural Pennsylvania. Everyone went hunting for something, deer, pheasant. Different mindset back then. Now you have someone see the same and they start screaming about “bad rifle gonna kill somebody”. What’s changed? Parental responsibility, lack of responsibility and morals, absence of religion and respect. Absence of a two parent (mom and dad) family, or all of the above? Oh yea...we didn’t have no stinking social media or iPhones back then. We did everything FACE to FACE!

What is your definition of a "nut"? Does losing a family member to a criminal equal your definition? What about a person who is mentally challenged?

I wish there were 1 quick answer to the senseless killings, but there isn't. If you start locking away people which fit into a category and someone kills who isn't defined by that category, do you keep adding categories until we all fit nicely into one of them?

I'm sorry that you may have lost a family member, but your pain is no less than someone who lost a family member to a criminal or for that matter a horrific accident.

I haven't lost a family member to gun violence and I hope I never do. But that doesn't mean I have to stay silent and let those that have be the only ones with a voice. If that was the case we'd have already lost our right to guns

If people are to be locked up, have it done through a court of law. Have them convicted of a felony or ruled mentally incompetent. But we shouldn't lock people up just because someone says they are nuts and they may snap at some point in the future. If we demand others respect our 2nd amendment rights then we need to respect the rights of others. We don't get to chose which amendments we like and only pay attention to them and ignore the ones that are inconvenient.

Most people on these meds commit suicide, a large percentage were returning vets. Big pharma is directly connected to the dems and obama care...shouldnt have to break it down any further but...its just another mission to/excuse to destroy the 2A, The Constitution and the Democracy of this Country.

The OP stated his problem and seems convinced that the adopted child is not capable of safe decisions and poses an immenent threat. He would be negligent if he takes no action. In addition he's put everything in writing. During the course of his time here several firearms are listed as on his possession. Inquiries have been made to purchase more. His 4 year old at the time took rimfire ammo to preschool. Now he drops this turd about a potential shooter on our deck, wrings his hands and expects the government or someone else to adult him and clean up his sh*t even though he makes good money.
If the kid is that unstable and dangerous it is his obligation to knock on as many doors as needed to protect the general public, himself and his kid. Unless he wants to post his name and address he's the only one that can take action. Whining isn't going to help at all when headlines read 'adoptive father of shooter took no action'. Having to lock kitchen knives in a safe place is a serious statement.
Take the kid to the local MSP barracks and introduce him. Sell some of your 'i have more guns' and get a lawyer to help you. If the kid does what you're suggesting and hurts someone YOU THE OPwill be the next to have a problem. You've admitted in writing there is a problem.

Get the kid and yourself some help.

I would sacrifice every nut in this world if it would bring my cousin back. Mentally Ill sociopaths and psychos should not be allowed to walk among us

He was killed by a nut with a gun

    Big difference

Make the legal age 21 to purchase and have a national 7 day waiting period, but gun policy is the answer. Not gun control= confiscation=socialistic/communist approach.

Not to disrespect your loss, but most who have lost a loved one at the hands of another, feel the same way. It's a shame that someone lost their life because of someone else's action, but it happens every day. Fly in a plane, ride on a train, get in a car. We all take our chances in life.

My brother in law lost his father to a group of people who felt the need to shoot him after taking $about $1.50 from him. This was truly all the money he had on him. They shot and killed him for $1.50. Were they criminals, were they nuts? I would say yes to both. The guy with the gun got 25 to life. The others, much less. My brother in law's sentence was a lifetime without his father. Some times life just plain sucks.

My definition of a nut is a person who would go to a school or nightclub or restaurant and kill people indiscriminately. Then there’s the nuts who are sociopaths and ruin countless people’s lives, they can go too

The average criminal killing or passed off husban or wife will never be controlled.

And yes there’s no one quick answer but the more school kids that are gunned down by nuts the worse it is for the 2a. I also believe everyone working in schools should be armed and trained to defend the kids, but that’s a different discussion.
