I will agree with thanking OP for this thread so now I know what DHS is up to and I can be prepared to tell them to bugger off if they come to my house.

ELI5: why the disdain for low post members? If you’re opposed to new members, why isn’t this a private forum?

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day [post on a forum] where they will not be judged by the [count of their posts...]”

PS ELI5 means “explain like I’m five”

    No disdain. Just an observation.
I love to read tough guy talk when it comes to people thinking they are tough guys when it comes time to talk to cops.

As a long time observer of the forum, I believe it was your tone, not your post count that caused the attention.

No related to the thread but now on my mind.

Most yappers who get real vocal, derogatory, and antagonistic and when talking to cops have never been in any real trouble, they are just mouthy. Real thugs are quiet, respectful, make you feel calm, and are dangerous!

You don’t have to act tough to assert your constitutional liberties. You can just assert them.

Some suggested stating "I want my lawyer involved/Talk to my attorney" in this situation. What if you don't have a lawyer? I'm surprised no one has raised this yet. Does everyone here have a personal lawyer, or can get a lawyer quickly when needed?

My “tone” was teasing OP for his Gadsen avatar when he literally let federal agents “tread” in his house.

Some people really can’t take teasing on this forum. Sorry if I violated anyone’s safe space.

I’m open to teasing and criticism FYI, so have at it

My experience has been that the "toughest" people turn to pussycats when confronted by the police. It's a whole different story in person when your stomach is in knots, trying to think about your assertions. Most people aren't used to talking to cops as much as cops are used to talking to people.

from the OP........doesn't sound like anyone was treaded on

Both agents were very friendly and pleasure to talk to, conversation lasted maybe 20mins?? After explaining that I had zero intentions nor knowledge of that scheme. Just gave them a general run down of what my purpose and use are for them.. After that I could sense a good deal of relief by both agents that maybe this was all a waste of their time?
After that quick discussion, was just a friendly conversation mentioned my general gripes about what I’ve been thru the past year with silly Maryland laws (handgun roster, magazine pinning/10rd limit, out of state FFL’s avoiding Marylanders, wait times, etc) they shared their own stories/annoyances even though they are LEO’s, having several issues themselves and being annoyed with state laws that are confusing and rather annoying whenever they would buy a new firearms. Just general talk, after the initial 5-10mins of finding out details on the scope purchase, before leaving left their business cards and said if I have any questions/concerns at all feel free call/email them anytime with questions. One agent even emailed me later that day again thanking me for taking the time once again.

You would think all this negativity would be directed to the anti 2nd amendment war machine. Y fight each other when we can fight the liberal machine together?

Agree to disagree. I would still count that as treading. As would others, according to this thread.

fair enough on the agree to disagree but again thats where these topics die.

Your and my opinion of over reach is poop. SCOTUS and case law are the determining factor.
