A co worker has offered me a practically new G27 Gen4(he bought it 11 months ago). It has the factory Glock night sights, talon grips, 3 mags that came with it, and everything else that came in the box along with approx 500 rounds of Fiocci target ammo for $425. He says he may have shot it 200 times (which there doesn't appear to be any wear inside or out), plus he let me run 60 rounds through it. Def snappier than my G17, but that's a given. I was really wanting a 26 just to keep all of the same ammo and mags, but this seems like a good deal. Thoughts? He wants a 43 is the reason he's selling the 27.

    #1- Yes, it's a good deal.

#2 - It's subjective, you fired it, how do You like it ? Baby Glocks don't do it for me at all, but plenty of people think they're the greatest thing since canned beer.

It shot the cheap UMC 165 gr ammo decent...kept all shots in the x ring of a B29 target at 10 yards. At 25 yards, I kept them in the 9 ring. The front sight seemed slightly crooked and after rotating it, all shots were more centered because they were slightly to the right before "adjustment".
I like how it feels in my iwb holster compared to my 17 lol. I feel very confident with my 17 and shoot it pretty decent. I know 40 is more expensive to shoot though

Good price, probably my favorite EDC, carry mine more than any other, it is deceptively easy to shoot well and accurate. Mild 40 loads including most 180gr are suprisingly soft shooting, they run at low pressures, so not much blast from the short barrel even compared to 9mm, or get impressive power from lighter/hotter loads. You can use G23 mags with an X-grip to get a "bobtail" grip that is really comfortable, and conceals better than a G23. I like the 2 finger grip, especially when adding a GAP floorplate it keeps the short grip, but adds control.

my favorite glock carry size is the 23/32/19. the "problem" with the 33/26/27 is that most folks (including me) add a mag extension for more rounds and to get a full grip, so my thinking it just to go ahead and get the 23/32/19 size and get all that built in. the barrel is a little longer (advantage - longer sight radius) but that really isn't the part that is hard to conceal vs the grip.

my thinking is the same on the 42 & 43. roughly the same form factor as the 26/27/33 although a little thinner, and you're giving up the double stack capacity.

that said, the price above seems real nice especially given the ammo should be about $100 worth.

The price is great, you will be able to sell it for at least the same even after you use it. .40 ammo is not expensive and you can shoot .357 Sig with a simple barrel swap. Buy it, use for a while, and then sell it for the same price after you find a G26 for 9 mm compatibility with your G17. I'd buy it in a heart beat at that price and I am not a fan of .40

The 27 will take a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel as well.

I agree with davsco on the grip length, the grip on the 27 is just too short for me personally to get a good solid hold on without a "pinky rest" mag floorplate, or an extended mag.

If it shoots good and he likes it the way it is, then I'd say go for it.

I have a LW 9 mm conversion barrel for my Glock 22 but don't normally advise others on it as I am not a gunsmith.

Good price when the ammo is factored in.

However I do not like them personally although I haven't shot one in a while.

I personally like the G19/G23 for concealed carry. Good sights and plenty rounds and it's small enough to easily carry and conceal.

Once I move on from my FNS Compact in 9mm I'll probably switch over to my G23 for a carry firearm. Having carried practically everyday all day for several years the G19 sized firearms are not hard to conceal and offer a lot of upside compared to some of the smaller offerings. I even debated on carrying my Sig 229 E2 in 9mm the weight not necessarily the size turned me away.

I'd take a 43 over a 27 or any other baby Glock. Especially if carried iwb. Why is he ditching it get a 43? More comfy? LOL

Maybe he (seller) feels about G26/27 like I do. Toi big for pants picket, too small and difficult to grip for a belt gun, hence neither fish nor fowl . But not everybody agrees, nor has same size hands. Or seller is one of those compulsive gun traders, who sell/ trade perfectly good guns that they shoot well, to finance the next shiney object of the month.

Something Billymx48 brought up that I never thought about...the 27 is a blue label. I know there was an article on here about a guy getting in trouble for buying a blue label gun and then selling/transferring it to his uncle. Both of us work for the same employer and are considered LEOs, so its not like he bought it just so he could pass on the savings since we're both eligible for blue label. Is there a time frame after purchasing a blue label gun until one can sell it?
