What's the consensus on this set up for a pocket carry when a belt is not worn for a holster? Moving to North Carolina next week and I'm getting my freedom in line before I set out the 18th.

I have my holster gun covered but I am very curious in a pocket gun if I am in casual clothes. I read the LCR .357 was a tame option for .38sp carry. Anyone have experience with sort of set up??

    Thank you

I take my 38+P LCR and put it in my coat pocket if it's winter, or throw it in my back pocket, no holster. This is usually just when I am walking the dog around the neighborhood. any revolver pocket carry is a terrible uncomfortable way to pant pocket carry when trying to "conceal". Unless you are wearing a coat with a higher chest type pocket to put the pistol in, you'll definitely get that one lower side pocket to hang and possibly look awkward. It definitely feels awkward which keeps you fumbling with.

I use a Mic Holster to carry mine without a belt holster.

I cannot think of any instance when my lcr is in my back jean pocket or empty coat pocket, where something would press that trigger back and make it fire without my finger.

    ?
This^^^, no holster with a revolver with no manual safety is asking for trouble.

If you want to carry a thunder five with no holster, that is acceptable, it has a manual safety, otherwise, I can't imagine carrying a revolver without a holster.

Interesting, I'd feel perfectly comfortable carrying a revolver without a holster. Much more comfortable with a revolver and no holster than with a 1911 and no holster.

Besides work If I carry all my guns are equipped with the clip draw.....no holster no safety. I've got an 10 month old daughter to prove my dong is still operational.

Bad guys shove loaded guns in their pants all the time and the frequency of self inflicted wounds is much less then 1 would expect.

I'm pretty much in agreement with you.

I carry mine in my front pocket. The MIC tied securely around a belt loop. And safely covering the trigger. Maybe overly cautious. I have no desire to put an extra hole in myself.

That's fine. I get it. But unless you have something in that pocket(and you press that pistol down), what in the world could possibly press that trigger from inside that pocket our from behind the jeans/front of the jeans? I dare say that cannot even be done with a finger from either side.

Under stress I prefer not to reach into my pocket with an exposed trigger. That's me. I prefer to be cautious. They call them accidents for a reason. To each his own.

But how are you going to keep lint out of the gun?

Are we discussing LCR vs other revolvers ? Pocket Carry of revolvers ? Pocket carry with or without belts ?

I am not sure where the debate is heading but IMHO a DAO revolver in a shrouded hammer configuration is inherently safe for pocket carry without a holster. Of course depending on your choice it may be bulky and uncomfortable. YMMV

Ok let's reign it back in. Yes my idea for the thread was
people's in hand experience of the LCR .357 firing .38's
If not the LCR (shootability being the driving factor, aesthetics don't even matter) then what
Pocket carry while not wearing a belt only a draw string. My thought on that is, I don't ALWAYS wear jeans. Sometimes I prefer to bum it, otherwise the 19+Eidolon will be worn

I have no fear of a ten pound trigger with internal hammer sitting in a pocket. Ten pounds is a deliberate action.
