It's this simple. If a nutcase is determined to murder people, an infinite number of laws to prevent murder will not stop the nutcase from going for it. Instead, everybody else's freedom will be crushed under the heavy hand of an authoritarian nanny state.

Maybe the noise about this will at least wake some more Fudds up in any case. (And by all means, no I'm not saying everyone who checks their hunting rifles is a Fudd. Just that some Fudds do) When some Zumbo-ish "them darn terrorist rifles" type suddenly finds he can't take his $8K bolt action on a hunting trip overseas, and instead will have to rent a gun :shocking: locally for his safari, he may have a whole different take on those common sense democratic proposals.

Then again a Fudd would probably just say "can't they just make it for handguns and semi-autos. I'm good with that."

She kept her Congressional seat when she should be impeached.

    what a low life

i guess it never occurred to her that anyone walking in off the street could do the exact same thing.

    felony stupid

Don't give her any more ideas for useless, idiotic laws.

i think everyone on planes should be armed so they can kill some of these luny ass nuts jobs before they can kill so many folks.

Remember, FL is one of the few states where permit holders may NOT carry in the unsecure areas of the terminal.

There is already a bill in the FL legislature to change this.

According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, a total of 631,939,829 passengers boarded domestic flights in the United States in the year 2010. This averages to 1.73 million passengers flying per day.
So one nut job out of 1.73M warrants a whole new set of laws regarding transport of firearms on flights ... or even an all-out ban ? :bs:
Im as progun as anyone, but I ask....what's the solution? Can fly with a checked firearm but no ammo what's so ever?

Don't fall for a gun-control solution to a geo-political problem. What's stopping a nut-job from entering baggage pickup from the street and shooting up the place ? This was a planned attack by a Muslim convert, not a random act of gun violence.

Banning any gun or ammo checked on a plane is nonsense.

The lunatic/terrorist could have just walked in the front door of the airport with a loaded weapon and committed the same atrocity. It has nothing to do with checking weapons on a plane.

DWS probably doesn't really intend to do anything.

She made it public. Her real battle plans are are secretive and only exposed by "hacking".

Those who overreact seem to forget that if you want to cause problems at the baggage claim it's a hell of a lot more effective to jump out of a car and walk in with a rifle and spare mags.

I believe this what the new administration and both houses of congress will focus on.

We'll see no knee-jerk laws for a least four years.

Though it won't stop the Left from flapping their gums about guns.

Legislators believe it is their place in life to legislate. Statists believe everything is the government's job.

Not an option, unfortunately. We ignored them for 50 years, and look what they did to the country.

It's different for now. The right controls Congress and the WH. Giving the left a bunch of attention at this point is no different than feeding a troll. You will deserve what it gets you. It's no different than being nice to them and hoping they return the favor. They won't. They will bash your head in and laugh at you for being so gullible.

Four years of R control is a flash in the pan.

They're merely regrouping, planning, propagandizing, and organizing for the next attack. They need to be exposed, disrupted, and decommissioned before they regain their strength. They are poisoning the minds of America's youth, confident in the knowledge that when you control the youth you control the future. Most college students now believe that socialism is an acceptable economic model.

Don't underestimate the Marxist allure. It's been alive for well over 100 years, been tried and failed in over 20 countries, killed tens if not hundreds of millions of people, yet captures the imagination of every generation's youth - because its historical failures are rewritten, inconvenient facts changed, and reality of universal slavery peddled as an egalitarian utopia.

The Marxist philosophy has a very long view of things. This is a setback for them, but one they will use to fire up the next wave.

I think the solution is much more complicated. We need to restructure our mental health system, and LE referrals, to err more on the side of keeping firearms out of the hands of potentially criminal people, and less on the side of political correctness.

Seems like ALL of these so called mass shootings have been carried out by two groups: terrorists, and the mentally ill.

I doubt you really meant that, right?
