I really do want one of these since Colion Noir posted his video about this. Though objectively I think these are stupid and expensive for what they are. But I kind of just want to say **** it and get a pistol caliber carbine anyway.

I wish these were priced closer to the KelTecs and took Glock mags, but I'm happy with what I got. The mechanics are solid and it seems like it will be a very dependable platform. It's also lots of fun to shoot.

Excactly. I am very practical in the guns I buy. And this gun has very little practical value. But it is fast becoming one of my favorites. Maybe because it's pretty much my only dedicated "fun" gun.
I already stock up on 9mm, but this gun will have me stock up even more given current availability of $0.20/round of new brass cased (and $0.17-0.18/round of steel cased plinking ammo). Probably the cheapest centerfire cartridge you can find and still packs a pleasurable punch when fired at the range.

Put an mro on mine, safety delete and gearhead worx mag release (phenomenal upgrade if you like the mp5 style paddle release). Wanted to take it out for its inaugural run this weekend but the weather had other plans. Soon hopefully!

I jumped on early and got a pistol then SBRed it. I LOVE THIS GUN! The ergonomics are incredible and it is a great shooter right out of the box. At 50 yards with iron sights, I was shooting great groups while standing! Even better from a bench rest. If the carbine would have came out first I would have ended up with that and SBRed it down. Either way, CZ makes a top notch product. If only the CZ Bren was a little cheaper......

agreed. I will still likely buy one OR a Sig MCX upper when they are released separately. (drops on an AR lower)

I just ordered a Cz evo 3 s1 carbine and my FFL and I interpret the MD law that it is has a folding stock it cannot have the muzzle device. We have tried everything we can think of to remove it But that thing will not budge. Does anyone have any insight that could help me. Thanks.

Both models of the EVO Carbine are MD legal as shipped from CZ.

As 2A mentioned, the CZ Scorpion Evo Carbines are MD compliant. Keep in mind, it's the flash hiders that can be counted in the "evil" features test for centerfire, semiautomatic rifles. The Evo Scorpion Carbines come with either a muzzle brake or a fake/faux suppressor.

Whats a ball park price on one of those carbines? Unattainable for me at this time but I can dream about one day.

I really like the things CZ has been coming up with lately. The Bren is nice looking, too.

$930-1000 online not including shipping and transfer, so out the door will be higher of course. Don't know what IPs are selling them for.

Mags are very reasonable. See the 30 rounders available for around $20 online pretty often, if you're in a state where you can receive. The 10 round mags cost the same. I got my 10 round mags from the CZ store online.

CZ calls it a a muzzle brake, not a flash hider, so as others said you are good to go.
CZ uses humongous quantities of a loktite solution on the brake and the nut that retains the fore end. Heat is your friend should you need to remove it for other reasons. Some claim success with solvents that dissolve cyanoacrylate glue (crazy glue)

Ok great thank you. Going to try the heat gun method to see if that works, if not I'm good to go anyways. Thanks everyone for the insight and help. Much appreciated.

There was no locking compound on my carbine's brake. Just tight w a crush washer.

FWIW, you need a DEEP 21mm socket to get the carbine's hand guard nut off:innocent0

From other sites on the web, that is true, no locking compound on the brake.

CZ custom, has an (out of stock) tool for $100. Does a long socket fit over the barrel?

Just took mine to the range for the first time and everything said about the factory trigger is true and then some. I have the HBI spring kit and some other farkles on the way. I forgot the sticks to staple my target so I had to be satisfied busting clay pigeons at 50 yds.

I have the HBI trigger bits. Big improvement.

I took a cheap 21mm socket from harbor freight, cut it in half, and welded a pipe in the middle. Allows you to reach the nut that holds the handguard on. Like I said, a DEEP socket;)

Almost bought a CZ carbine today. Had ordered one from Cabela's with their 10% firearms coupons and some Cabala's bucks. It was the one with the 10rnd mags and the muzzle brake. When I got there to the Wheeling WV store to pick it up, they refused to sell it to me, they said their policy was to sell no rifles with folding stocks to MD residents. We even pulled up the MD Police firearm site, it is not banned and is legal in MD, but they said no, so I just left it there, they could not be reasoned with.:( There are other places to buy them from.
