Looking at a rifle on gunbroker. cannot find it locally anywhere or I would support local business, and the couple dealers I talked to can't get one right now. Can anyone recommend an FFL near Mt. Airy to handle the transfer if I end up getting it from GB?

I emailed Bob Loesch and Keith Shiloh who are listed with GB but haven't heard back from them yet. If either responds will use one of them, but have a short window for the current auction if I end up going that route. For some reason I don't think Bob is doing transfers any more but I could be way off on that.

Isn't Bollinger's an hour from Mount Airy? I've only been there once but it was a bit of a drive.

x3 on Brian at SCSG, he's closest to Mount Airy now that Lou is not with us

Bollinger's is 45-60 mins from me, but love those guys up there and have spent many $$ with them over the years... but was looking for someone a little closer for this transaction. Bob Loesch is about 10 mins from me and he will handle the xfer for me no prob. Trying to get this set up today before I leave town for 9 days.

will Gunshack do transfers? for some reason I didn't think they would, but not sure I ever asked them.

Gun Shack will do transfers. It is $40 for long gun and either $50 or $60 for handgun, can't remember for sure what their handgun fee is. They do not do transfers for items that they sell in store and I can't really blame them for that. I have done long gun transfers there before and recently asked the owner what the current fee is. Steve has always been good to do business with.
FYI, Tyler firearms did my last long gun transfer for $30 and it was an extremely easy process! For me, it was worth the extra few minutes of drive time.

Brian at SCSG should be able to help you out. He is just one exit down the 70 from Mt. Airy

I used Brian at SCSG in Woodbine for a transfer with good results at a reasonable cost

x2 on Brian. Good guy and really close.

I definitely recommend Brian. I've been using him as my FFL for years and he has been terrific. Highly recommended.

I've used both Brian and Bob and they are both stand up guys who will take care of you. Only negative is availability for both. SCSG's has limited hours, and Bob still works full time I believe, so his appointments aren't always on pace with today's "I want it now" standards.
