Personal Protection
So Personal Protection is the new phrase. Need to start getting everyone on board with this before February
Absolutely agree that that is the product that we can and must sell.
Worried about the riots? PERSONAL PROTECTION.
Afraid of home invasion? PERSONAL PROTECTION.
Worried about getting mugged? PERSONAL PROTECTION.
What should your elderly mom get? PERSONAL PROTECTION.
What does each MGA Member have that you don't? PERSONAL PROTECTION.

Starchuski is a coward. He and the others can sit on a knob.
I have no respect for an organization that infringes on civil liberty. Who gives a Frosh if they do it with a smile?
They violate their oaths everytime they deny a permit or add a restriction.
I got out to the parking lot before most of you, and I overheard the MSP folks having what I would call a very heated discussion. Couldn't tell who said what, but from the tone I wouldn't have wanted to get anywhere near them. They were PISSED that the board voted unanimously to grant MX an unrestricted permit.
:
Simple answer. It is a direct challenge to their imagined authority. Remember it is a privilege not a right. Only they get to say who gets the privilege...Why do the MSP LD folks take it so personally?

If they truly get "in trouble" for having their restriction decisions overturned life at work must really suck. Perhaps our fine governor should finally let the LD know which way he wants them to go instead of sending mixed signals through hprb appointees. Messed up situation all the way around. For the record I have found the current Captain and the new handgun permit Sgt. to be helpful and efficient.Agreed. And I also think that they have to answer to their bosses at MSP headquarters, and deal with the aftermath of their restrictions being overturned. Probably like pissing in their Cheerios first thing Wednesday morning. Definitely wouldn't want to be in their shoes. Of course, all that would go away if they would just grant us our constitutional rights in the first place. Until then, it's going to be soggy Cheerios. Deal with it LD.

I have offered to help anyone who was interested before and I do so again. There are numerous ways to get a permit in Maryland. If you really are interested we can talk offline. The situation is not ideal and is certainly not fair but when given lemons make lemonade. You are not on the outside looking in. You are in one of the chosen classes and already accepted into the circle. Sincere congratulations. But try not owning a business/business reason or using the carry valuables card. Then you can be an undeserving, unwashed, pariah like the rest of us.

Your frustration is directed at the wrong person. Boundless was instrumental in helping me navigate the hoops and hurdles to obtain a DC permit and he has helped many obtain their MD permits. He is definitely not one of the "I've got mine so I'm done" crowd.
Believe it or not there are many of us with permits who are fighting as hard as we can for all Marylanders to be able to carry for self defense if they choose.

Actual, actual answer is a bit of both. There are clearly some examples of certain troopers taking personal offense to being challenged. Not professional offense but personal offense.Actual answer is the lack of consistency from the HPRB on their rulings.
