Kinda goes hand-in-hand with the other about "the ones that got away" but I thought it should have its own thread.

OK, unless you're one of the lucky ones who never regretted buying any firearm they own, most of us have bought a firearm (doesn't need to be a handgun) that almost immediately gave us buyers remorse.

This was one of my worst decisions ever:

Steyr GB. I despised it from the very first shot. It was a massive handful of pistol that was very fussy about the ammo it liked, had a horrendously heavy trigger pull, weighed a ton, had muzzle blast like a .357 Magnum, and shit accuracy with nearly every load I tried. The only good thing about it was tremendous magazine capacity (18) for its time (mid 80's) and it looked cool.

No regrets with anything that I've bought. Only that I didn't buy more before the SHTF relating to gun laws.

Bersa Thunder .22 and a TacSol .22 Glock upper. Between these two, I almost gave up on shooting .22's with any sense of reliability.

Only one I regretted buying was a Taurus .17 HMR revolver. DA trigger pull was north of 20lbs. SA trigger pull wasn't much better. Despite the heavy trigger, there were constant light strikes. For rounds that did fire, the shell case ruptured (split wide open) about half the time. I sold it dirt cheap and never looked back.

Bought a Marlin XT-22 that I hated. The front sight was canted from the factory and the entire setup was garbage IMO. I also really disliked a Winchester 1887 lever action shotgun I thought was in good shape, but actually had a poor bore. I'd love to find another one that was shootable (even if it was a Chinese or Italian made copy).

Zip gun. I don't think i've made it through one magazine without jamming. It may be a neat exercise in design, but i'd've rather spent the $200 on crack

None which I regret buying yet... But, a couple which were given to me that aren't really great pieces. Two .22s (pistol and derringer) and one .25 (pistol)... I don't hate them but they are really not all that great.

Beretta 9000s in .40. It had the cool Minority Report movie factor but that was absolutely it. I gave it to my brother, he tried to give it back.....

    Yeah, I have a list:

    - Glock 19. I fell for the hype. I appreciate the gun for what it is. It just wasn't me. Sold it.
    - Beretta 92FS. Hated the M9 in the military. Gave it a second chance. Sold it.
    - Sig Sauer Scorpion 1911. Complete impulse buy. What I really wanted was a Colt. Traded it. Now, I have my Colt Special Combat. All is good with the world.
    - Ruger LCR9. What I really wanted was a Smith 547. Sold it. Still don't have a 547. Never thought I'd sell a revolver. Makes me sad.
    - CZ 97BD. I expected it to be somewhere in the same stratosphere as my Sphinx. Not even close. I will probably end up selling it or getting it cajunized to be more like a Sphinx.

My other 30 or so handguns are here to stay. Simple rule. If I hate shooting it, it's got to.go.

Beretta 92F and HK USP-40. Both just too big for my short fingers.)

Manurhin PPK/S. Bit the webbing of my hand every time I fired it.

Beretta 1951. Bought an Israeli surplus gun that didn't have Israeli proofs. Found one with Israeli proofs a couple of months later. Now I have two.

The one I really hate is the Sig Mosquito. It is so picky with ammo and I have nothing else that has given me so many problem. I now have it relagated to gun that is used in classes for demonstration but I never shoot it anymore.

Browning Buckmark Camper. Not only did I find .22 semi auto pistols to be tediously dull to shoot, the darn thing would rust if you thought about it. The gun required regular oiling just to avoid surface rust.

I have one of those! Heading to safe to retrieve it for oiling...

S&W Model 29 Silhouette. 10 5/8" barrel with dial-in front sight elevation settings in 50 yard increments. Sounded good in theory. I was shooting in IHMSA matches 2x per month and I thought a longer sight radius and few extra fps would be beneficial. It wasn't. Accuracy was underwhelming and not even as good as the 8 3/8" Model 57 I foolishly replaced it with. When IHMSA folded-shop a year later, I had no further use. It was designed to be fired from Creedmore position - which I never developed a great fondness for.
