With this weekend's storm, we have come to conclusion that our 12 yo snow blower needs some work.

We also have law mowers which need servicing as well, most places do both.

Any suggestions that are NOT Eldersburg Lawn Mower Repair (Next to 7/11)? We have not collectively had a good experience there, due to lack luster customer service. (Think some gun stores, you only get attention if you are one of the cronies....)

We are looking for good service with reasonable pricing.

MDS never lets me down on recommendations. Thanks in advance!

Eldersburg fixed a generator for me under warranty that no one else would touch.

Closer to me is Clarke's Ace Hardware on 40 in Ellicott City. I have gotten pretty good service from them as well.

My experience with Eldersburg Lawnmower Repair has been spotty, too. They've never called me when something was ready, I've always had to call them - only to hear "Oh yeah, that was ready 10 days ago". I had a grass catcher frame welded there, it was a complete hack job. Just my 2¢.

    LOL. Too funny.

Also have snowblower issues in SoMD area. Any recommendations that are NOT Eldersburg Lawn Mower Repair?

Dave's small engine repair in Loveville has been good to me. They are located on Route 5, Leonardtown road. The Loveville post office is at the beginning of his driveway.

I work in AACO but live in Columbia and I find that GAMBRILLS EQUIPMENT CO in Severn, MD to be good for about $40.00 they will pick it up and bring it back to me.

Try Lawson's Outdoor Power Equipment in Woodbine. Just on the Carroll side of the tracks on rt 94.

This is who I use, they do solid work. Also very pro 2A and the dog that is always there is cool as chit.

They have a sign in the window that says something like "This shop is protected by Colt, Glock and Beretta and that is not a law firm". Although Beretta is misspelled, lol.

Also, they are literally right across the street from South Carroll Sporting Goods.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions.

I will follow up with one of these vendors and let you know how it pans out. The more we work together, the less we get collectively ripped off.

My snowblower is dead too. I'll try the Mower Man (since I don't have an easy way to get it to a shop) and see how he does. Thanks for starting the thread and for the responses.

OK -- so it's not exactly a reference for a repair place, but while you are servicing your blower, you might want to consider increasing its performance.

The short story is, if you minimize the gaps at the end of the second stage blades, you will move more snow further. I performed the mod shown in the linked video and can testify to its effectiveness. Just skip to about 6:00 in the video and you can get the drift of what to do.

    x2.
years ago had blown out spark plug threads drilled out and thread insert installed...worked great for many years.
recently took the parents mover in for clogged carb, broken pull rope and a few other little things and it started fine for all of 2 times them no more.

I recently took two rototiller tires to Eldersburg Mower Repair. The service was good and they were quick, but I think $47 to put two small tubes in two tires is a little steep. In all fairness, I haven't had a new tube put in a tire since the mid 1990s.
