Edgeworks in Frederick. It's chock full of nice knives, including Benchmades. Well worth a visit ...

There's also a small gun store a few blocks away, Gunrunners, if you have time after knife shopping. It's down an alley way, and up a staircase.

Edgeworks is a very nice shop and carries a wide range of makers. If you go to gunrunners too, you will walk by several very nice places to eat. The bagel/coffee shop in front of gun runners is my favorite breakfast/lunch spot. A very good Irish pub is across market st from Edgeworks.

+1 more for Edgeworks--probably going in there this weekend to fondle a few EDC pokers that I've been contemplating. You may have to wade through some silly damn hipsters grazing nearby, but once you get inside the shop you'll realize it was worth the trip ;)

The Carroll Creek Parking Garage usually has space on the weekends, is relatively inexpensive, and at one entrance is across from Gunrunners ...

One needs to walk a few blocks north on Market Street to find Edgewood. It'll be on the right/east side of the street heading in that direction.

Yes, he is so off the grid that you can't google the address. Is this his business model?

There's a very good knife shop over in DE. Greenwood I believe. Not far from Bridgeville. No sales tax!

A1Uniform has like 15 different bench made knives plus a few others in stock as of last week.

I'm not sure exactly which models they have but this number of choices is about right. Plus I bought my groomsman knives and he was cheaper than Amazon

Continental has some Benchmade models in stock, if Timonium is closer for you.

So I think, after reading silver spring, rockville, halethorpe, Fredrick, st leonard, and DE, the answer to the question about a "local" knife shop was NO. :D
