I get a lot of solicitors coming to my house... does anyone know how to stop them? I get them all the time and I've tried putting up signs but that doesn't stop them. I have "no soliciting", "beware of dog", and "no trespassing" signs throughout my property (including my front door) but it doesn't seem to have an affect. Does anyone have any ideas how to stop them? Are the solicitors breaking any kind of law since I have signs posted?

Point to the "No Soliciting" sign and ask, "Are you stupid?"

Then stare at them, remaining silent, until they awkwardly leave.

    The answer is very simple.

Don't answer the door if you don't know who it is.

They will go away soon enough.

The Capitol Meat folks take a bit longer for the hint to sink in.

I don't answer the door either, but from time to time I slip up and answer it. I had a younger solicitor steal my "no soliciting" static cling once. I was furious but then I had to laugh and admire the balls/stupidity it took.

If you have a gate, lock it! If you're twisted get a "Trespassers will be violated!" poster with a gimp mask on it.

Just tell them you are glad the escort service finally sent another one because you ended up breaking the first one....

I have thought about it but it seems to me that there are more laws to protect the criminals then there are to protect those that follow the law.

That was a joke. You will probably be arrested if you "arrest" them. I often have fun with them. I had a guy come to my door asking if I needed windows. I insisted my house had no windows. He actually stood and argued with me about it for a while before he got disgusted and left.
