I love mine 9mm..ATI stock...
To the OP, Hi Point = absolute and complete garbage.
If you only intend to take it to the range, shoot a few mags through it, and put it back under your bed. Then yes, by all means buy one.
Otherwise, save your money for something a little more professional grade.
Have a 9mm.... it is by far the least reliable gun I own. I don't shoot it anymore since it is a PITA. Failure to feed/extract about every 5th round. It is strictly a safe queen now. One of the only guns I regret buying.
Do you want to sell it?
You haven't seen any of the reviews or videos have you? THIS is a good one to start with.
Here is what it is: a fun range plinker that can easily double as your primary home defense weapon if necessary.

Yeah, Nuthinfancy is sort of a clown. I am not sure what his Air Force job is but I hope he is good at it. Other than that, no professional takes his stuff seriously. I am more of Kyle Lamb or LAV kind of guy (Google it).
I mean "Trench Drill"? C'mon.
Like I said, if you are only going to shoot about 200rds a year at your local range then the HiPoint should be great. But let's not try to pawn it off as a serious firearm.
Eeeek! Ah, fun range plinker yes. Primary HD? No.
You would be better served by something with a proven track record like a Mossberg 590 or Remington 870. These guns will outlive the original owner. Not so sure the life expectancy of the HiPoint.
