This Gun Show was just about the biggest waste of $8 I've ever encountered. Nothing but cheap crap and Chinese Knock-Offs.

I got a kick out of the guy selling VLTOR E-Mods for $75. I asked him how they were so cheap and he said that he doesn't mark them up as much as other people. I then asked him how no body else on the face of this planet sells them for less than $115 yet he can somehow sell them for $75. I wanted to so badly bring a real one over to him so I could show him how cheap the ones he was selling were.

There was only one or two booths selling good stuff. One was Precision Firearms.

The coolest thing there was a Abercrombie and Fitch Luger. It was #1 of 100. I wish I had $7500 in my pocket because I may have bought it. The same guy also had a 1911 "1919" in pristine condition. I think he was asking $2400.

You know a gun show is bad when the only thing you leave with is a bag of Beef Jerky.

I went more or less window shopping. Just making a purchase earlier in the month I didn't have enough cake to take something home. Lou had an SKS that I would have purchased at a really nice price if I didn't already have one.

I didn't spend any money besides a soda and some raffle but a bad day at the gun show is better than a good day at work.

I met Mopar and enjoyed the conversation , when I save up enough cake I'll be buying one of Lou's sweet mini 14s. I estimate there were 4 tables in the whole place that were worth looking at , Lou's Shooters Discount and Chad's Fox's Firearms being two of the four.

I don't blame the peeps running the show as MUCH as I blame the political machine that runs this state. It's only a matter of time before they tax or gun law me out. It will do the mind good to put this state and their misguided gun policies in the rear view.

This had to be the worst Timonium show I have ever been to. I guess it was ok if you like junk knives or people hounding you about some charity or another. What was there was overpriced. A couple people I talked to there were in agreement so it was not just me. Maybe that is just how MD guns shows are going to be now with the new laws in place.
    What a shame.

I quit going to them because there are no better deals then going to a shop, and mostly it's old guys selling old knives along with stupid sh*t like beef jerky displays.

Has nothing to do with the laws. Maryland shows have been sucking hind tit for a long time now.

Has everything to do with the people putting on the show. They are selling tube-sock tables to any person who pays.

Time to condense the shows. Guns and Accessories and Dried Meat Products only.

As for pricing, it's the chicken vs. the egg syndrome. It's a touchy subject, so I won't post my suggestions here.

Agree that MD guns shows have always been crappy when compared to VA or PA but it seems they have really hit a new low.
And to clarify my earlier statement about the charity's that were there. They are good causes but when I am the only one standing there and some guy is yelling "support the veterans" at me I tend to get a little pissed off. Like I sure do support veterans but I am not giving you a penny. Who we support and how we support them is our own business and I don't need some guy yelling at me to give him money for his cause. Sorry my 2 cent rant.

I don't like that form of solicitation anywhere. I usually get heavy doses of that tactic at the grocery store. I just ignore them.

Be careful criticizing a md show, some will tell you that you should be going there and pay the higher prices or risk not having any more shows in md.

Kick me if you will, but paying a "small" premium to keep Maryland shops up and running is something I am willing to do. There are a lot of really cheap bastards that finger firearms and then buy on-line. Then the same on-line buyers bitch because a shop wants to charge 100 bucks to bring that on-line item into his store.

The problem arises when maryland/gun show shops are asking 60 bucks over MSRP.

A major shift in selling and buying must take place or we can kiss the shows goodbye.

I guess we could call it the "Timonium Trashy Knife and Tire Kicker Show".

$60 over MSRP, or $60 over online price? NO ONE should be charging over MSRP :sad20:

The same promoter does the York show, amongst others.

There really is no other promoter in Maryland that does gun shows besides really small ones a VFW puts on, or the such.

Half of Maryland's gun shops seem to double as a Pawn shop, and be on the smaller side with not much inventory. I think that's one reason our shows never compare with say a PA show. I have yet to find a MD gun shop that is as large as some of the ones in PA I have been to.
