    Huh, jealous.

I made it about 300 yards from the Hacks Point Marina ramp. Someday my boat will cooperate,... I'm sure of it!

I've been slaying the rock in a local spot by me. Our total keeper catch is up to 26 in 11 days all between 18''-25''. Catching them by boat and by land. Lots of fun, great time of the year. Right now I used to think about nothing, but hunting. Now I could care less about deer and would rather fish.

    Nice Dam fish.
I used to love the Dam fishing.
Never took any Dam pics though……

    OK, I'll shut up.

Nice fish, I hope to be out on the water this weekend near Point Lookout on my new Pro Angler kayak. Maybe I'll get lucky and get a few pigs myself. Nice job, leave a few for me...

Redneck, how are you catching them? If you care to share?

I'll share. I look at it this way, one day I may need some other suggestions or advice.

The big hit for us has been cut alewife. From land I run a 10' Penn Prevail Surf rod with a Penn Battle 5000 holding 300 yds of 30lb Blue Magibraid. I have a few other 6'6'' and 7' rods that I use too, but mainly on the boat. All are set up the exact same way. I use a 2oz inline sinker on the short rods and 3oz on the surf. The current really rolls through so I like to hold bottom. The 3oz on the surf rod helps me get it out there a bit farther. Tie the inline sinker to your line and then the hook to the other end of the sinker. I use 14'' leader 4/0-6/0 hooks. Cut a 1'' piece of alewife and you are good to go. Be careful using too big of bait, you want to be able to set the hook.

We have also had luck on rattle traps, poppers, gulp jerk shads, and gulp mullets. I usually run a 1/4oz jig head on the soft baits. White and chartreuse are my go tos. For the rattle trap the hit is always silver with blue back. 1/2oz-3/4oz.

    Good luck
