Sanners' Lake Rimfire Silhouette Match

Attached is the report from last weekend's match at SLSC.

The STRONG performance of the youth-shooters at this event gives hope for the future of the sport.

The next Rimfire Silhouette Match @ Sanners is 15MAY @ 0900 - ~1400. Like all matches at Sanners, it is open to the public -- non-members are very much welcome.

Match Tomorrow -- Sunday 21 August

Just a reminder of tomorrow's RF Rifle Sil Match.

$5 Match fee. All are welcome!

~0830 Set-up. 0900 sighting-in & warm-up. ~1000 match starts.

Loaner guns available -- already sighted-in for the appropriate distances.
Match-ammo is also available @ $5/50-rnd box.

Congrats to all who participated last month -- we earned $150 for the Wounded Warrior Foundation.

I noticed the Rimfire Silhouette is scheduled for 1 pm. Is it feasible to shoot both the Ruger Rimfire and the Rimfire Silhouette matches?

If you proactively communicate your desire to do both, we'll let you shoot-through on the RF Steel Match (essentially giving you head-of-the-line privileges). That won't guarantee that you can shoot the RF Sil match, but it'll make it far more feasible.

The conflicting matches this Sunday is a unique situation that should not happen very often. It is being driven by the Advanced Trauma First-Aid Class on Saturday, that is being attended by many of our Match-Directors and ROs/SOs.

I know Ari wouldn't like the idea of going to the front of the line on the shoot-though because she really gets annoyed by folks who won't wait their turn.

Perhaps if we could talk to who's ever running the Silhouette match into just letting us try shooting a round to get a feel for the course, that would allow us to get a taste of the match without having to do one of our hour-plus drives down to Sanners range. I'm hoping that would be enough for me to sell my daughter on another one of Sanner's public shoots.

Chris eked-out a win over SteveH. The tied-score in total animals "taken" was broken by the winner in animals taken at the longer ranges -- where Chris' 3 rams beat-out Steve's 1.

Yep - we plan on hosting this event rain or shine (although it's sounding likely to be rain).

The firing-line is covered, the targets are steel, and the range-house can provide shelter for the non-shooters.

But it is nevertheless a good idea to monitor this site for cancellations, in case of tornadoes or the like.
