    Interesting:

The week of July 29th to August 5th the MSP processed an average of 299 applications per day.

Since then they have added staff, upgraded equipment, and farmed out data entry to speed the process.

The week of September 13th to September 20th the MSP processed an average of 229 applications per day.

I wonder how many sworn people are doing the background checks and what the average number of applications are processed per person per day?

That means right now they are falling at least 771 behind every day. Wowzer!

Wonder what that room looks like tonight?

Actually 897 behind each day or for each new day of work the backlog grows by 4 days.

See post #1140 for more statistics.

I was using simple math 1000-229.

It's all new math with them anyway. :)

Suffice it to say, it makes me think of the I Love Lucy episode in the candy factory when she starts stuffing the candy everywhere when they keep turning up the conveyor belt :D

On 9/13 it was 94,127 Total applications
On 9/20 it was 102,001 Total Applications

This is an increase in total applications of 7,874 in seven days or 1,125 applications per day

On 9/13 the total processed was 50,653
On 9/20 the total processed was 52,256

In seven days they processed 1,603 applications at a rate of 229 per day (got a lot faster after exposing all our private information NOT)

On 9/13 the backlog was 43,474
On 9/20 the backlog was 49,754

In seven days the backlog grew by 6,280 applications or 897 more back log per day.

If no more applications were received after 9/20 it would take 217 days to process the existing backlog at the rate they were working last week.

So much for “all hands on deck”.

    HQL “… shall issue…” in 30 days!

Keep them busy keep buying, apply for Designated Collector, apply for HQL when available, snail mail your questions, etc.

Interesting each day they work they get 4 days further behind. Each day they receive 5 days worth of work (1,125) and get 1 days work done (229).

All that is just living proof of the inefficiency and waste inherent in any government operation. everything takes longer, costs more and is less accurate.

Email being equivalent to a postcard is a good analogy.

Yes, but having all the PII in one place is like going to the sorting facility or post office of the sender versus the individual mail boxes of the receivers. The damage is much greater if you gain access to the mail facility. It's like leaving the Post Office open and unlocked after all the employees have left for the day.

And having all the postcards laid out side by side face down for easy reading.

Never had a problem with any credit card until shortly after the compromise of PII at the MSP during their "all hands on deck" effort. Just because I didn't include credit card numbers on my 77R form does not mean that information gained from the forms could not be used with other information gained elsewhere does it? I'm no IT cybercrime guru so forgive me if I'm in error. Just seems odd that it takes place shortly after the MSP screw up.
