I have been packing a Glock 32 for about 5 years.. That replaced a couple of 45 and 9mm pistols.

With the right loads, it approximates the performance ofthe 357 magnum. It will make swiss cheese out of most cover and there is no perceivable bullet drop at 100 yards. With enough practice, 100 yard shots on coke cans is easy. It is also reliable from lightweight polymer pistols.. Immune to limp wrist malfunctions. The bottleneck cartridge also enhances reliability, feeding a 9mm barrel from a 40 caliber chamber. That design funnels rounds into the chamber reliably.

The only drawback is the excessive muzzle flash, report and snappy recoil. Ammo is also expensive and hard to find nowadays. But if that was not a factor, the 357 SIG outshoots my 1911. And im a 1911 fanboy

I like my 45 and 9 mm pistols, but for serious HD/CCW..... I pack a pistol in 357 SIG

SCAR pretty much said all that needs to be said.

Love my .45, but find myself carrying the 357SIG more often. More FPS and FT/LBS than my hottest .45 loads, and more of 'em in the gun.

I miss the good old days of burning though 300 rounds of 357 sig in one range session.

It is actually my favorite pistol caliber.

It's an expensive, loud, powerful round with high pressure and snappy recoil. Do you have a Glock for-tay now?

I only go thru about 100-150 per trip now, it's just been hard to find for me. At least for a decent price.

Love the round, it's got some ass to it.

But have been shooting more .45 lately since I reload it already.

Brad and I like to pistol snipe..... We require sunstantial velocity out of a handgun. We like to squeeze every bit of ballistic performance out of small packages. While the 9-40-45 are okay. It requires a bit of DOPE at distance.

The 357 SIG.. Shoots like a laser beam at 100 yards.

Gangstas at MSAR give you the look of admiration and respect when you tear up targets at rifle range with a pistol. LOL

IIRC, less than 6" of drop at 100.

My .45 loads, IIRC, average about 16" of drop at 100.

    BIG difference there.

That's the perfect reason to use it. I'm not knocking it. Just don't know if mopar92 has the same need or requirement.

I don't call it a need or requirement, but it is nice to know you have a flat shooting round that can carry significant energy out to distance (for a handgun anyways).

In my M&P, I don't think it's as snappy as shooting a compact Glock in .40, there is some snap, but's different. Kind of hard to explain.

Yeah I've got my Geelock ghey fotay.

I'm not knocking the .40 either. My father has a G27. That would be my choice if forced to pick between G26 or G27. I've given serious consideration recently to buying a G33 and an extra Glock .40 barrel for range use. The SA XD-S is what has me rethinking it.

Hot loaded fodder from double tap..

    1.5" drop at 100 from a G32.

I dont shoot it that much anymore... Due to the ammo crunch. Im reduced to shooting Tula steel cased ammo in any caliber that I find at Walmart.

That snap inspires confidence. There is no doubt that you care enough to send the very best down range.

Its a Kablam, Snap and grin reaction. Its almost as fun as shooting 3" buckshots.

Damn!! That's a freaking flat shooting round there. What grain??

I hear you, looking for some cheap .223 to break in the newest build now. Brass case is just to rich for my blood right now, and don't want to dig into my ammo stock.

Shooting it at MSAR, sounds cool. 357SIG has a strange sound indoors.

Everything is loud over there, the accoustics are just horrible. even suppressed stuff sounds unsupressed.

But.... The fireballs From the hotloads add to the fun factor, just double up on hearing protection.

Accidentally fired it without hearing protection... It like BLAM... Followed by a whistling sound, then everything was muted, like water in your ears....twas like that Normandy scene from saving private ryan.

Ballistically, an excellent cartridge. The question (unfortunately) becomes whether or not you can afford to like it, both today and longer term. And especially if you don't roll your own.
