S&W .22lr Combat Masterpiece ( has had different Model #'s in different eras ) .4in . Great gun , accurate .22 in it's own right , understudy for K Frames generally. I used this to develope DA trigger skills , and quasi-ambidexterous abilties . I died in a flooded basement incident , still miss it.

As a general advise , unless one is facing imeadate death threats , and has no other defense , a first handgun should be a .22 . By the time you fire thousands of rounds , and develope basic marksmanship skills , you'll know what you'd like for second pistol. And everyone should have at least one .22lr pistol in their battery. (Notwithstanding present panic) cheap ammo for much practice , good for casual plinking where report of cf would be excessive , good to start out new shooters , and just plain fun.

I started with a Ruger Single Six in Stainless. Oh how I loved the magnum cylinder. Traded that in for my Glock 17 Gen 2 which I still have today and will NEVER get rid of. I should NEVER have sold the Single Six. It is now worth double what I paid for it, USED. Boo.

Just to add to my above post, who remembers a shop called .....

"A little to the Right" out of Reisterstown? That is where I purchased my Glock...
