Picked up my new Benelli M4 today and noticed a few peculiar things about the shotgun and the paperwork inside the box.

So a question to M4 owners... On your "congratulations" certificate of authenticity, what exact model does it list next to "on your purchase of this shotgun/rife"?

If that's all it says, I think I may have picked up an unusual model. My certificate says "M4 Super 90 XM1014". Also came out of the box with the factory 3-position collapsible stock.

Wow... that model is for LE or Military use only... Restricted.

Mine had to get US made parts( 922R) installed before I can even attach an extension tube or replace to spitol grip fixed stock to a C- stock

Yep....and...they list for just under 3K. The 11707 model is what the general public is allowed to buy OTC. Either way...GREAT Firearm...and Congrats!

Thanks! Kind of neat to learn that I got a better deal than I thought. Even the local gun shop thought it was an odd find, but did not charge more for it. I am very excited to get this thing out to the range. I made sure to practice "ghost loading" with some dummy rounds before I load it up with some real deal 00 buck.

    Is it the Benelli H2O?

Sure isn't. This one is the all black M4 model. No special coatings or American flag stamped into the receiver.

More than one person may have got lucky..... :D

To the OP, my card might just say "M4 Super 90 XM1014" also.
I wonder if we've been shopping at the same place, I had talked myself out of needing an M4 then they said "hey, look what we got in"

That stock is usually $500ish by itself on GunBroker... if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the complete gun?

If you paid $1800 or less with the LE parts, you stole it!

Not sure about the OP, but I picked up the XM1014 in the pic above for $100 under MSRP of the 11707.
Local shop, they have a couple of the standard fixed stock pistol grip M4s (11707) and after a discussion, we decided that for the price difference it isn't "that" much better than the Mossberg 930SPX it would be replacing. My resolve began to waiver a couple days later when they said "hey, look what we got in" and then disappeared like my account balance when I asked the price and they said "we paid the same as for the fixed stock version, so we're selling them for the same price..."

Could have rolled these into one but I have some barrels and chokes to put in the classifieds and I'd rather get there without resorting to a bunch of "me too" posts....

Like SCARCQB said, the biggest problem with the deal on this gun is the 922r parts I had to order to put the full length mag tube on it :party29:

The 9 round mag dumps should be interesting
