Well, it's almost time to buy my first gun in VA. I've been a resident for over 30 days and the initial moving expenses are pretty much out of the way... I had to deal with some car repair and a sick cat too, but it's almost time to make my first purchase.

I am counting on you guys to help me make a decision on what I should get first!

The LCR will make a great pocket carry gun. The Masterpiece Arms will just be a fun toy... and you know, I sort of just want it because I CAN now! :D

I'd go with the MPA 9 personally. Just because.

Don't know about .357 subbies, can't imagine full power loads would be much fun after a few rounds were sent. (Coming from the guy that was shooting a S&W500 with a shattered right thumb last year)

I've shot the .357 LCR with Critical Defense, and it really wasn't bad at all. I have a genuine need for the LCR as my CHP will be valid as of 6/16.

The MPA can be bump fired.... using one hand! And comes threaded 1/2x28. I hope it will be fun... I guess it's a need vs. want issue lol

After your past life in the industry, are you seriously saying you don't have any other handgun suited for CCW duty?? ;)

Although I can see why it'd be appealing, big bore punch in a little package.

After living in VA for a few years myself, there's portions of Falls Church I'd MUCH rather be concealed carrying than openly. ;)

Yeah, I have OC'd but prefer to CC. The LCR will be my EDC, so I can unload before crossing into the PRMD without the bullet setback issues of loading/unloading semi-autos.

I want the LCR as something I can toss in my pocket for a jog or run to Starbucks. I've been OCing with my G21.

Sounds like you've made your decision then. ;)

I typically prefer to carry one of the M&P's when I'm in Va, .45 or .357SIG, having those rounds available is a great piece of mind.

First few times I OC'ed, was waiting on something to happen involving me and an angry officer, but that never happened.

Now that I'm CC'ing, I always wonder if I'm somehow printing. Normally wears off after a few minutes though.

I know what you mean. I carried for almost 3 years straight, and have now been "naked" for a year. First few times out my head has been on a swivel, and I'm always looking for "no guns in here" signage near business entrances. I haven't seen any. I have actually run into more "legal carry is welcome" notices.

When in PA I became very comfortable OC/CCing. I really only worried about CC when in Pittsburgh proper or Duquesne campus. I learned if you're carrying and acting normal, no one gives a crap. Only twice was I "made" and neither was a bad encounter. Just "hey, you have a permit?" "Yep" "Cool, just asking" situations.

Only time I ever was questioned while OC'ing in Va., it was PWCO officer asking how I liked the M&P.

What a difference a state line can make.

I say go for the LCR. I open carry my S&W 686+ 2.5" in the winter and it's very comforting knowing you're carrying 7 rounds of .357 mag. Now in the summer, it's my G26.

Yes, it's different over here. Although I got my Gadsden flag plates a little over a week ago, and was feeling pretty awesome... when I pull into a space in a parking lot. This hipster looking pedestrian looks at my car and flicks me off in one motion.... I hope he was seething. But then again, I feel sad for him because of the fact that the idea of liberty is SO offensive he couldn't shroud his disdain.

I've gotten more thumbs-up's than 1 finger salutes for my truck's back window - nothing but gun related stickers.

The ones that do flip me off, I just blow a kiss back to them. The look on their face, Priceless!!

Except the GLOCK logo is the MAGPUL logo. Also have my Crossland/Gadsden magnet. :D

    Specifically Baltimore City. ;)

*If we gotta deal with another douche in this state, might as well send him into the lion's den. :D

Natty Boh and PBR are cheaper up that way. Eff him. Just a reminder that despite escaping to the Commonwealth, I have to fight for liberty here too.
