Anyone here ever shot one or own one? I have a chance to get into one for a very good price but don't know anything about them.

    Go for it.

Even if you end up hating it, you should be able to recoup what you put into it.

That was pretty much what I was thinking too. From prices I've seen on Gunbroker, for what I can get into it for, I should at the very least get my money back.

Run some rounds thru it, that'll tell you all you need to know.

Seen a few, but haven't shot one yet.

I'm waiting for the full info on it now. Don't know if Sig has a backlog of orders or not. If there is a crazy wait, I'll probably just pass on it.

    Don't blame you, waiting sucks.

Going to be waiting on that Noveske lower for longer than I'd like to be.

About the only reason I can tolerate the wait is cause I'm not around to use any of the stuff I ordered anyways. Makes it a bit easier but still, if I order something, I want it, even if it is just gonna sit in the safe for awhile.

I have one, its very well designed. The fit and finish are excellent. With that said, like most ARs in 308, it's a boat anchor.

The short stroke piston and lightened BCG help reduce recoil and the reinforced lower receiver with built in QD mount points is a nice touch. The mag release is ambi. The trigger is heavy but has a clean break, unlike on my former Bushmaster LR308 which felt like a Popsicle stick breaking.

Below are a few pics of features I thought you would be interested in. She is sporting a Vortex Viper PST 1-4x in the pic.

Thanks man, that's what I was hoping to hear. I have been going back and forth with a POF 308 or a lefty Model 700 in 308.

I'm thinking I am going to go for this one and if I don't like it, I'll trade off or sell it.

I saw the specs and it did look like it weighed alot but I don't figure I'll be running and gunning, I just want to get into something for some longer range shooting. Hopefully the heavy trigger can be swapped out or improved.

Op, Buy it, trade it to me, see my sig

If I don't like it I will hit you up, but between my travel schedule and Marylands epic wait time, it may be quite a while before I find out if I like it or not.

I believe these are cash and carry. If we trade, private sale at msp, 7 days and shes yours. I would have some extras for you to make up the deal.

I just assumed they were regulated. Never thought about them being cash and carry.

Once the deal is done and I figure out if I like it, I'll let you know. It could still be awhile though. Not sure when the delivery is set for, they have to get a minimum order first.

I won't be home again till June and will only be hitting Maryland on a drive by to grab stuff to go to North Carlolina for three weeks.

Not sure when I will be home next after that.

They are definitely cash-n-carry, like milk and eggs. ;)

SIG really does do a nice job on the fit and finish. The POF will be a little lighter, but more expensive and harder to find.

    Yeah... a Rem 700 in 338 Lapau.... YET. ;)

I would like a 300 Win Mag or a 6.5 Creedmoor ?sp? but it's not going to happen; I'm done buying guns and I plan on channeling the gun dinero into my little buddy's college fund.

Additionally, I now collect Hummels and Stife bears. :party29:

I haven't handled the Sig yet but I like the look of it. I have CMMG, Bushmaster and POF .308's and the POF is my favorite. As others said you can always get your $ back out of it if you want something else.

I'm pretty sure sig is backed up at least 4 months from what I have heard. Are you getting it sub $1750?
