I'm certain there's an element that wants to disarm us. No question there. My problem with most conspiracy theories is:

1) they involve too many people, most of whom are average joes and have no interest in screwing their family and neighbors - not to mention they can't keep a secret.
2) the Gov muffs everything they touch. They can't even fix a freaking pothole or order a printer without screwing it up. I just don't see "them" pulling off a sophisticated operation of any real consequence.
3) to what end? What's the motive?

I do think we are in danger of losing many rights, however. I'm as concerned about privacy as I am 2A, etc. We are entering uncharted territory.
