S30v is good steel, thanks for posting this deal.

After purchasing, I got this note:

    Item Notes Include:
The blade on this knife is S30V steel. Some of these blades were not marked at the factory.

Mine just arrived today ! Thanks for the post !

lol. I ordered mine just before I posted this thread and still haven't received my knife. I just received notice from Cabelas (via UPS) that my package was delivered to the local post office for delivery. Wonder if I ever receive my knife now?

Review? How do you like the handle? Is the sheath garbage?

I am just opening the box now:D

The sheath appears to be nylon covering a hard plastic insert inside, I do like the way the handle fits in my hand has finger bumps or how ever you would describe it.
The handle is a hard plastic or nylon.
Blade is not marked S30v. But it does have one sharp edge. I like this better then my full size buck knife . Field dressing a deer would be perfect for this knife. For the money I think it is worth it.
The blade is not black pictures are from crappy phone .

Very short tang to the blade. Several have broken at this point while chopping brush.
Other than that a great deal, just not really durable as a hacking tool.

I got mine in last night. For the money, I'm very happy with it. It handles very well and fits my hand well. Plus, I'm pretty sure that I'm good enough, smart enough, and that people like me now that I own a knife with S30v, doggonit.

Atec, thanks for the comments and photos. I rarely make impulse buys, but this appeared to be a genuine good deal. I have a folder with s30v blade and I really like how sharp it stays. Looks good too.

My Pleasure ! It was a impulse purchase for me as well, but for that price if I get a year out of it I will be happy . And For my intended use it should be around for many years !

Every once in a while, Cabelas has great deals on knives. I'm always on the lookout for a good grab. I'm glad so many people were able to patronize an upstanding supporter of the 2A.

Got mine. And friends now have theirs, one bought two of these knives.

First observation, there is no s30v marking, was mentioned before, not terribly surprised.

Secondly really impressed with the sharpness of the blade and overall impression of the knife and the sheath, much nicer than I expected for $30. The blade easily shaved hair on my arm.

Lastly for now, I ran a magnet (Nd2Fe14B) and discovered the metal only runs a little over half of the length of the handle.

Not too much of a concern, yet.
