No offense USAFRavenR6...but as someone who has the same amount of posts as you do, we have to be careful about ringers on this website encouraging everybody to hit the street all strapped up.

With less than 200 posts you could be an undercover dude hoping to draw out a little heat that the authorities would then be compelled to follow up on. It's just not a good situation. The Anti's are watching and waiting for us to go freakin' berserk so let's not give the opposing team anything for their locker room bulletin board.

If something "sassy" is to be suggested, it should come from someone with 5000 posts--someone we trust because they've been in the trenches way before this all broke out. Keep up your fire USAFRaven, we need everyone we can to pull this wagon.

I understand the whole post count thing but I can assure you, I'm not some anti plant who is looking to fire up the troops. I just feel very passionate about this and until we meet at a rally, there is nothing I can say or do to convince anyone otherwise. I mass email multiple times thought out the day like everyone else and will continue to do so but being in IT, I can assure you that it is very easy to block all emails inbound via content. They may not even be receiving the emails and if they are getting through, they C&A. Set up outlook rules to delete them as soon as they hit the account. We broke the am system and made a statement but it did nothing. I'm frustrated and just want to be heard like the rest of you, it's just not happening for us and we are playing by the rules doing everything right. I'm watching our rights evaporate before my eyes and think about if this is what it's like now, how will it be for my little boys when I'm not around? It sickens me and we have to do something, anything, before this is too late with nothing left to do but the crying

It's illegal, but with SB 281 looming will it matter? Tyranny is tyranny, whether it plays chess or sports an 80's porno stash. I realize Maryland is liberal as a whole, but any time the majority strips rights away from the minority is by definition tyranny.

The 2A is our last line of defense against a tyrannical government. Like everything else, if you don't use it, you'll lose it. Then what? We're stuck with a tyrannical government and we have no recourse (courts will be packed/stacked worse than they already are).

We have that now. This crap isn't law yet,I know we are very close to loosing our rights,Law suites need to follow next, recalls, and Petion removal of those that are going against the constitution. If we raise enough hell,we can win.

If you read Section 2 there are quite a few C&R firearms that would be classified as assault weapons under sb281. Section 4 is nothing but fully automatic NFA firearms that qualify.

    and how about a 12 round CZ82

How about we recommend that FFL03 C&R holders are exempt from training and fingerprinting. When you go to buy a garand, you can submit your FFL03 in lieu of record of a shooting competition.

Has the whole transporting an assault weapon out of state to go the range or a match and then bringing it back into state being banned in the bill been addressed yet? I listened to the last 90 minutes of the audio stream today and didn't hear anything.

google is your friend, I am not.
the picture of a bunch of armed people rallying for gun rights is just going to look bad, like a bunch of armed thugs. just my opinion. maybe I'm wrong, but i am hopeful that the fingerprinting and license fees would not survive the 5 supreme senators, er justices

Is there anyone here with some understanding of law who can provide any insights as to whether this law would hold up in court?

I have to question the basic idea of jail time for failure to register a firearm.

Have assault weapons bans been well tested in court?

Is a definition of assault weapons that includes limits on more than 10 rounds likely to be viewed so narrowly as to be a true assault weapon, when there are a very large number of pistols out there with this capacity?

Having listened to the disfunction tonight, my sense is that crowds in Annapolis won't change anything. Legal arguments may?

I can't listen anymore. We are F'd. I went through this in NJ back in 1994. Then I moved to the "free" state. Not so free anymore. If I could move I'd move, but this is going to happen everywhere. It's only a matter of time. Too many libs outnumbering folks with common sense.

I'm not saying that its going to make us look like the tooth fairy but we are already painted like nuts. If anything maybe it will allow our elected officials to take pity on us as they do the rest of the thugs in Baltimore and pay us some attention to listen and coddle us until we get what we want.

doubtful. when was the last time you took pity on someone armed? best case scenario, you validate the CCW-carrying vigilante image all the libs have.

Ok, so while drinking my beer, I'm thinking about the whole "firearms at a protest" discussion. What's the definition of firearm? If we were to remove the bolts from our ARs and leave them at home, it is no longer a firearm is it? Whatever, we will not have the people to do this where no one will be arrested as there are safety in numbers but I'm just thinking out loud
