I think this proves the value of submitting written testimony. I didn't even get through the line to sign up to speak, but I did get my written testimony turned in.

    Yep!

    That's why I prepared BOTH!

Problem is, I have my doubts that the written testimony will even be read - especially but those already in favor of the bill.

Liberals don't like to be confused (or waste their time) with facts.

I was fortunate enough to have Senator Dyson's secretary walk me directly to the lady who was collecting the written testimony. While there, someone asked her if they really read all of the testimony. She replied to his face "of course they do", but once his back was turned, she rolled her eyes and shook her head at him.
I doubt very seriously if they read one word of the written testimony that was turned in where there is so much of it.

BUT, As far as I know written testimony has to be entered into the record. So if someone goes back and looks and sees 4000 people oppose the bills and 100 people are in favor of the bills the proof is there that our elected officials did not carry out the will of the people.

Got to Annapolis around 7:30am yesterday and was able to get one of the 9 hour parking spaces on King George Street (thanks Norton!) Got to the office of my Senator (Getty - on the SJP Committee and he opposes SB281) around 8:00 am (building didn't open to the public until then and there were a good 15 people online already) and met with his admin.

Signed up to testify shortly after sign-ups began at 9:00am. There were 7 people ahead of me to sign up. I then turned in my written testimony. After signing up, I went to the House building and met with my Reps, Ready and Stocksdale, both very pro 2A. Stocksdale's admin told me the Organ Donor bill has been withdrawn.

Walked around the capitol grounds and then went to the rally point from 11 to 12. Great crowd, great people and for the most part little trash if any. I kind of didn't like the 'Adolph O'Malley' sign, but oh well.

Went back to the Senate buliding to get on line for the doors opening at 12:45 and was behind the same people who signed up at 9:00am. They moved a lot of people into the lobby area of the SJPC room and when the doors opened, it was a free-for-all. Though I signed up early, I had to go to the overflow room.

I thought my head would explode listening to O'Malley, Brown and Balt Co State's Attorney Schellenburger. Sat through several rotations of 'support' and 'oppose' testimony, was glad to hear Patrick speak.

I had to leave soon after and don't know if I was ever called to speak. I doubt it.

As has been posted many times, we did well yesterday but still have a fight ahead of us.

I was glad to have seen Boxcab, Minuteman, Lou45, BigCity and Boondock Saint yesterday.

Don't think for a minute that they will read it... The gun grabbers will use it for the liberal equivalent of target practice... whatever that is. Maybe roll joints with it.

Got there about 1030. Got in line to testify, 6 hours later I signed the ledger. It was really imspirational to see how many stood for hours knowing they would never get the chance to speak but wanted the official record to reflect their opposition.

Stayed to the end, finally did get the chance to at least state my name, county, and opposition to bill....also through in that I was a registered democrat (saw an eyebrow or to raise).

930pm made the walk to the stadium and headed home.

Long day, wanted to get my 3 minutes but overall very excited by the turnout. For the House bill hearing I will spend the night so I can be one of the first in line.

Great showing for our cause, and gotta say my legs and hips or sore as hell from all that standing.

It was the MD Senate that moved the date ... fully knowing the other event could cause a problem

My hat is off to the combined agencies involved ... the president seem inconsequential during the most of the day.

WE are the story today, he is relegated to the sidelines as
    also there

    Fixed it for you.

Thanks to all that could make it to the hearing yesterday. You all defininitly showed that we will not be silenced, our voice will be heard!!!

I'm just amazed there was more coverage for gay marriage than for gun control. Even though, as was stated earlier, this was the first time the building had to be shut down in 11 years.

My wife watched the news at 6:00 and the national news at 7:00(I work at night) and she said there was not mention on WJZ or CBS news. I guess the liberal media could only play it this morning at 5:30 when most people are still sleeping by what she told me.:sad20:

I will continue to send emails and make phone calls opposing all bills that infringe on my 2A rights. Thanks to all of you who attended yesterday and testified aginst this bill, my hat is off to all of you.:bowdown:

Got there around 10:30 or 11, went straight to the rally area, after the talks were done me and my girlfriend got in line at the senate building, when we finally got inside I looked at my phone and checked the board here and saw that people were being turned away, and I realized that me and her were in the end of the line, only about 40 or 50 people had made it in behind us when they stopped letting people in.

We waited for another hour or so and never even made it to the stairs in the building, so we decided since we wouldn't be able to testify, and there were sheets outside to register our opposition officially, we would do that and make it home at a reasonable hour.

I definitely heard many police officers and security guards commenting that they had never seen so many people show up to oppose a bill, sadly I don't think that really matters to the legislators.

With all that we pay in taxes, I think they treated us like a big inconvenience, there was no hospitality at all.

I took an unpaid day off from work, stood in line for 3 1/2 and didnt even get to the front of the line to register to speak, and than was shown the door, and locked out. No one from the state ever came by to give us any updates or advice, offer us a seat in a room, or god forbid offer us bottled water, or a sandwich.

We were treated like a disease.

We pay all of these peoples salaries, they work for us, and thats the treatment we get when we come to the People's house?

Thank you!! It was a great day to be both a Maryland resident and 2nd Amendment proponent. I am especially glad that I was able to take my 15-year old son as he was out of school. We both enjoyed ourselves.

You know what, everybody says that February 6th was a great day for the 2nd Amendment. Me, I don't really see it that way. Just the fact that February 6th was necessary is a problem as far as I am concerned. Now, if we were all out shooting somewhere on February 6th, then it would have been a great day. It utterly sucks that I have to put forth as much effort as I am putting forth to protect the 2nd Amendment, but I believe there is a saying in this regard, "some things are worth fighting for".

FYI - I am the blur of a guy in one of Smokey's pics that is carrying a USPS box. I was in a hurry to get to the Judicial Committee Proceedings room to file my written testimony that was 6 pages of analysis with several exhibits attached. Took me two days to pull it all together. Probably a waste of my time and it will never get read, but at least I can say I put forth the best effort I could.

Yeah, when Senator Kittleman and Senator Nancy Jacobs wrote me and said there were going to be 100's testifying and everybody would get three (3) minutes I knew:

    1) I could not say everything I wanted to say in 3 minutes
    2) There was a very good possibility that I would never get to speak after hanging around for 10+ hours.

So, written testimony it was. I think I killed a small tree with everything I wrote, which they will probably recycle expeditiously, but such is life.
