Who has one here? I want one just to have one. And yes, I'm a Star Gate geek. FN probably sold most of their civilian PS90's entirely based on Star Gate...lol.

i've heard a variety of complaints about them mostly about the ammunition.

if there was a ps90 that used 9mm lugar rounds or heck even 22 rounds i'd be all over it.

I have one, very cool gun!
50 rounds of 5.7 is just awesome, it feels like you can shoot forever before the mag runs out.

I have two in black, they are bad ass. I did however build my own custom low profile aimpoint mounts because the factory sights just plain suck. Most people who complain about them haven't even shot one. I personally consider it a “bail out” gun. It holds a ton of rounds; it’s light, accurate as hell and does a fair amount of damage.

as for the 5.7X28 round, check this out

I have a green PS90 and FiveseveN pistol.

Both are fun and suprisingly accurate to shoot.

PS90 is very easy to shoot unsupported while standing.

    Both have been 100% reliable.

Triggers are poor on both, worse on the PS90.

PS90 white ring sight takes getting used to.

Broke a PS90 50 round mag and FN bent over backwards to make it right.

I pack my PS90 into a SBK laptop case and leave it in the camper. Gives you 200 rounds of fire with only 3 mag changes and looks like a laptop computer while cased. Best solution for me. I take mine everywhere so don't want to SBR it. May get another one to SBR and suppress.

these are very good weapons. as a Class II manufacturer, Rick converted one up at the shop into a P90 an it is one of the most controllable weapons i've handled in full auto. also, the shells eject out of the stock downwards, so you can put on a catch bag if u want to reload them

it's a good thing they have 50 rounds if they can't penetrate past 8 inches i guess. looks like they do a variety of damage inside that 8 inches but still. agreed it could be a kickass bailout gun. i love plastic things so i think this is badass...think i like the new aug semi a little better though

I love my FiveSeven. Even if the ammo is a bit expensive you can find deals. I got 20 boxes at $19 each (50 rnds). Just need to look around for them.

Good thing is that you might be able to order from eliteammunition.com. I sent them a letter with the pdf file stating that its legal to ship to MoCo MD. The guy was happy and thanked me for it. I will post more news if he's ready to accept shipments from MoCO

Oh, forgot about the shells ejecting out the bottom. Great for hangnig a pouch at the range. If you don't, you will get greasy streaks down your shirt that look like you spilled coffee on yourself. Kind of a plus and minus.

Also- totally ambi/ same on both sides. Big plus for lefties.

Small minus is there is no bolt hold open or way to present it to show an empty chamber without removing the mag and holding the charge handle back.

i dont exactly spend a lot of time on public ranges. i dont care about bolt hold open. if someone were to ever give us guff i'd just push the button in, separate the sections of the weapon and say "there, all safe for you now". it takes less time on that weapon than a bolt hold open procedure by an unfamiliar AR15 user.

I would not underestimate the 5.7X28 round; I've seen firsthand the amount of wound damage it can impose. The round is designed not to over penetrate soft targets.

Uh, that just isn't good practice. Even if it is just myself and a friend shooting, the bolt should always be open just for GP if humans are going down range. That isn't a "public range" type rule. It is kind of like keeping your finger off the trigger until you are ready to pull it. If I was completely alone then I wouldn't worry about it so much.

That said, I'm not familiar with these weapons, but couldn't you just use one of these? http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=535054

I was impressed by the round and how it just snakes inside. Plus I heard about a good bleed pattern but aside from that I would like to see some gore made by the round. Do you have any pics or know of a good site that I can see? I know that I'm not getting much stopping. I hope I would never have to use it directed towards another person but all that imagine is maybe 2 to 3 shoots and seeing three to 4 steps and just bleeding out.

don, many class 3 weapons dont exactly have a bolt hold open. belt fed stuff we usually prop the covers up. those i shoot C3 with dont mess around. we call range cold and everyone checks his or her gear before the day's RO calls for movement into the downrange area

i'm not arguing with safety protocol, but generally those with ps90s at our events remove their mags (our rule unless you are on the line shooting) when off the line or cold and visually check their chambers. there are weapons, the sturmgewehr comes to mind along with the m82a1, that do not have provisions to leave the bolt open.

I get you now. I thought your post was saying that you guys don't worry about certain safety protocols since it is a private range. I misread you. I've been in that situation and the operator just usually makes it known in a loud voice the the chamber is clear and holds it open for a couple of seconds for those that wish to verify.

The P90/PS90 does not have a bolt hold open feature, however it does have a take down button, once engaged the action can then be moved slightly forward and to my knowledge the weapon will not fire.

There is a bolt hold open, you have to use the door at the bottom where the cases come out.

Holy shit, you're right. Just pulled mine out and... DAMN.

That changes everything. Feels like I have a brand new rifle now. THANKS! I would go out shooting right now but it's dark. Gives me something to do tomorrow...
