I am appalled and disgusted to watch what is going on. The misinformation, the outright lies to further the anti firearm agenda, the entire thing. It's been framed at this point, and we are already behind the 8 ball in the debate.

The meme is "semi automatics" must go. In an instant, we are at the point of simply fighting to retain the right to own wheel guns. I'm sick listening to the coverage of "semi autos" and the conflation between those and rifles, machine guns etc.

These people are going for it. There going for the brass ring here. They want pistols FFS, not just "assault weapons". I know I am a nobody here, few posts and no history - but cripes people, I see "change" via this tragedy destroying the 2A to the point of black powder being all that's left.

They have no shame in using these kids as their platform to take the 2A, we have to mobilize and resist this. I feel as though we have always kind of expected some sort of AWB to "come and go", but pistols? Anything but a freaking revolver? Lever action? Are we all just going to accept "hunter" as the official definition of what firearms ownership means? I don't even hunt! I believe in defending myself from enemies, both foreign and domestic - I also just like guns and want to collect them.

    Where is the pushback? Dammit!

Yeah, I was watching ABC's coverage yesterday and they show the lanza's saiga 12 in the most "scary" way, adding a drum and rails to freak people out.
I was reading CT gun laws and it turns out they have the strongest gun laws around (even the brady campaign gives them the green light). It turns out that didn't stop him. He came to a gun store, where he refused a background check and a wait period. So he just sole the guns.

    We're not loosing

Anytime the 2A community responds to their rhetoric we put ourselves on the defensive. After a proper period of mourning out of respect for the victims, cool logic and facts will prevail.

I have actually seen very good on-air 'debates' from SAF's Alan Gottlieb and other pro-2A national personalities. The NRA has purposefully been silent while the media rants and wrings their hands ... and that's a good thing. The left wants us to be on defense in responding to their lies and emotional outbursts because they know as the facts come out, they won't have a reasonable argument.

Standing up a strawman like banning semi-automatics, then expecting us to try to knock it down is a fools game. Countering with the facts as they have emerged, like mental illness, lax gun security at home, and gun-free zones, will allow our response to change from defense to offense without having to break a sweat.

Cool down. It is TV talking heads. We aren't at that point at all. Not even close to that point. When the nauseating media moves on, and they will, the 24/7 will die down. There will be an awb bill pushed, some form may even pass. But, as frustrating as that would be, it is a far cry from they've taken everything but wheel guns. Wait to get wired up until there is a proposed bill. Until then you are falling into the trap of thinking because people on TV are puking words, that it matters. It's TV.

Actually, in discussions with my very anti-gun friends, most of them are focusing on things like proper storage, background checks, mental health/societal issues, etc. They realize that CT already had an AWB in place, and it didn't work. They also realize that outright confiscation (which is necessary to make any kind of ban really effective) would be a "very bad idea". When I kindly point out to them that the Second Amendment is now a civil right (thanks to McDonald), even the ones who want stricter controls back down.

All of the anti-gun pundits are foaming at the mouth. Let them. The people see otherwise. The courts are in our favor. That's what counts.

This is the same hysteria that was used after Dunblane. Any attempt at sense and reason will be beaten down by a hysterical mob. All the left has is emotion and an event like this stirs up enough mindless emotion that there is nowhere near enough sense and reason to overcome before it is too late and the tragedy exploited to the max. Never mind the mall shooter who turned the gun on himself when confronted by an armed citizen on Thursday.

The only people that are pushing for more gun control are the people that have been pushing the same irrational fictional agenda since the dawn of time.....and they are assisted by the fourth wing of gov.....Liberal Media

The facts haven't changed folks....the only thing thats changes are the feelings of the same old liberal schills that think criminals are going to pay attention to laws if we just pass one more restrictive ban.

NICS worked in the Ct case and denied the guy a purchase.

That freak then went and committed murder to obtain firearms through ILLEGAL means.

This isn't about firearms, its about doing a better job of getting dangerous mentally unstable individuals off the streets.

The current debate is like a bond fire. It's burning hot and bright, but the fuel is pretty short lived.

Soon the NRA and SAF will be along with the deck guns and blitz streams.

The only danger is if they wait to long it could spread.

Does anyone actually listen to Cowherd? I'm just curious. That guy is ALMOST as bad as Skip Bayliss.

Does it upset you because you think college coaches and ESPN radio talking heads have some kind of clout or influence? You can feel better knowing they don't. None.

I hope you guys who think this isn't cause for alarm are correct.

The saturation meme I keep seeing is "military weapons of war/battlefield weapons", "semi auto", "clips", "only hunters need guns" and "mental health". Also of note (to me at least) is the constant drum beat of misinformation: Full auto being conflated with semi auto, semi auto being used in such a way as to imply only "battle field weapons" are semi auto, etc.

right after the shooting, some lady senator was foaming at the mouth wanting to get rid of the 'gun show loophole' which clearly had no bearing on this incident. they don't give a crap about the facts, just want to push gun control at every "opportunity."

And the facts are coming out ...

Lanza was 'upset' that his mom was making plans to potentially have him committed. He also destroyed his computer hard drive to hide his premeditated murder plans.

Me and puss-puss don't even need our tinfoil hats for this one. However, the media still conspires against us ... :ohnoes:

Folks, now is a good time to make that extra donation to NRA, SAF, MSI, GOA.

Take that money you would've spent on 30 round magazines if they weren't all
sold out and send it to the groups that fight on our side against the lunatics.
