So I had a problem start with my glock 23 that is seriously pissing me off. I've gone through 1000 rounds of wolf .40 and another 1000 rounds of Federal American Eagle. I think i literally had one fail to feed EVER. I ordered 2,000 rounds of Aguila. First mag in im getting fail to feeds like CRAZY like every other round.

Could it be so simple as the ammo? I had a few of the eagles left (3 mags worth) had one fail to feed. What the hell is going on here. I added some pictures below, i even had some dented casings... I swear i compare the casings of the aguila and the federal and the aguila looks and feels oh so slightly larger.

    Anyone?

mag spring?? hmmm no, not with that low round count...mmmm try shooting other ammo i guess to see if it's something from the gun or the ammo

Might be the ammo, I have had terrible luck with Aguila ammo in two out of three of my M1 carbines. IMHO very lightly loaded compared even to AE.

ammo not being able to push the slide back far enough...
if pushes back far enough to eject the spent casing, but not far enough to grab the new round. you could be limp wristing too

    what ammo are you using?

i would say the ammo is the problem then... just not a powerful enough load in the previous rd to get the slide all the way back and get behind the next rd. looks like it got to the back of the rd but not behind it to push it up like that.

Does the extractor appear to be loose or have lost tension? I'm thinking the extractor may not be properly grabbing the cartridge case as it strips the round from the magazine. Then when the slide rides forward the round gets chambered cockeyed instead of going straight into the chamber as it should.

extractor looks good actually little wear, strong spring. When firing the rounds are clearing fine Never have a stovepipe or a round lingering, she leaves in a hurry its just the forward cycle or the round coming up from the mag. So frustrating. Wish i could find some GD wolf stuff to test....

Did you compare the OAL for each round? Also, how is the feedramp? Any heavy grunge or carbon buildup? AE is not the cleanest ammunition in the world.

After the first issue, i came back from the range and broke down the glock and cleaned like a mad man. So there was no crude on the ramp (see picture)

I checked out the length of the ammo giving me issues with the ammo thats not, the ammo giving me the problems (er, or the problems im having when shooting a specific ammo) is actually slightly shorter but like i said im looking at the round and it seems slightly thicker brass... i dunno

I had the same problem with a Sig Sauer 40, I sent it back to Sig, they adjusted the slide stop and the extractor. I fired three hundreds rounds of ammo, using junk discount type and duty carry ammo and it now works fine. Hope this helps

It's probably ammo, but get a Springfield XD to be sure. If you have a PC then buy a Mac and that should fix it.

Winchester White box is good. Be sure to check the ramp and all the little metal pieces that contact the round. If one of them is scratched that could cause some problems.

looks like a short stroke to me. I would see how tight a fired case was in the chamber, and chronograph a round, if it is really slow, then you can confirm the problem. Logically, if the only thing that changed was the ammo, and the problems arrived with it, then that would be the first thing I suspect. The 180gr is advertised at 1,000FPS, if it clocks 900 or less/1050 or more , or if the fired case is unusually tight in the chamber, then I would contact aguilla for replacement.
