I don't know if it's Russian or from somewhere else. Here's a pic of the can. Is there a way or a site to decipher the codes/ numbers?

ЛПС (LPS) means light bullet, steel (core)
гж (g zh) means gilded case (copper washed steel I think))
гл would be brass case
гс would be steel case

'Л97' is a lot number
'77' is the year of production
'188' is the factory (Russian)

вт is powder type
102 is powder lot number
77 is powder year of manufacture

шт (sh t) is abbreviation for 'штук' (shtuk), or 'items' (440 count)

The easy way to type in cyrillic is to use a virtual keyboard then cut and paste the results:

If you have a Mac it can be done right on your machine with the "character viewer" which also lets you do degree carets °, cent signs ¢, fractions ½, math symbols ᚂ √ and other stuff not directly available on your keyboard
