Don't know why they need training nowadays cause in my day we knew exactly what to do when we ran into a gay Marine, let's just say we convinced him that he wanted to leave the Corps as quickly as possible. Course the band and air wing guys mighta been okay with it.:D

there are all kinds of marines but a marine is a marine throughout training and all the excess bull sh!t that we have to deal with you become a thick skinned individual and gay marines are just like straight marines in that they have to deal with the same crap and have to act professional regardless of their sexual orientation. I am not a supporter of gay rights but i support their RIGHT to be gay(or anything else they want to be) and that alone. If your gay in the marine corps it dosent mean you cant cut off your cammie pants to your crotch and go hit on same sex marines. They are held to the same standards as every other marine in the corps.....how the hell did this post come to this lol!!

    Sgt Preston here...

It's been 50 years since I was on Parris Island...

So I guess that officially qualifies me as a Raging Old Corps Geezer...

IF there were any Gay Marines back then, they kept it to them selves...

I actually like the Clinton Plan: Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Don't Wear a Dress or Knee Pads (GRIN)...

    It is what it is...

All that being said, I would trust any Marine in Combat that won his Globe & Anchor honestly...

BUT we probably wouldn't go to the same night clubs...

You bring up a good point....chances are we have all worked alongside gay Marines. The key is as long as the emphasis was on being a Marine and doing our job.

While I served in the Army and I worked with quite a few Marines, if any of them were gay, I couldn't tell. The Navy and Air Force, well, that was a little easier...

Hey, it could be worse. from what I understand there are alot more ladies on the boats now too! I would watch out for the guys that serve on submarines though.

So yeah, back on topic, I guess I'm turning into a gear whore, I decided I'm just not a fan of the M3 bag for a medics bag so I went to a larger bag. I have a decent trauma background, so a medics bag for me is a little more important that the average guy (in my opinion, which has been proven to be wrong on occasion). I can take some stuff outta my main bag and finally do a decidcated Med bag rather than having stuff spread over 2 bags.. :)
