View Full Version : Optic mount GSG 1911 tactical

I have a GSG 1911 tactical and I already have a bunch of red dot sights and I have this itch to put one on but just for fun and I dont want to permanently modify the pistol. The pistol comes with a tactical rail mounted under the barrel and I would like to mount a scope rail off of that to the top if it is practical, or use the already existing screw holes used by the tactical rail. I know there are grip mounted rails but I do not like them and I would rather one that mounts where the tactical rail is, is this something easily fabricated or already for sale? or maybe something I can buy and modify for either application? is this practical to do? Please give me your input or opinions.

I cannot post pictures because my camera is dead and I cant find the charger.

Have you thought about replacing the rear sight with a red-dot mount?

No I dont want the red dot moving back and forth with the slide, I know alot of em do it andit works but both of my red dots are a little big for that and I dont want to buy another one designed for that.
