I hate poachers, especially those that illegally hunt field mice. I'll fess up to shooting ONCE at night in my life many years ago. The wound looked like a perfect circle around my eye....I do NOT recommend shooting a 7mm Mag with your eye mashed against the scope.

10 year old with a BB gun. He told me his brother dared him to pull the trigger, shot himself through his tennis shoe. He didn't think it would penetrate.

Thing had been in his foot for about a week. I did a digital nerve block, cut the BB out from the bottom with a nick from a #11 blade. Ran about 250 ccs of saline through the hole in his toe (entry and exit wound now communicating) and put him on some augmentin, gave him a tetanus booster.

No police. No report. It was a freaking BB, for God's sake. The Dad was suitably pissed, said he was going to lock up the kids' guns for a while.

All I could think of are those oh-so-smarmy shotgun snots at the Isaak Walton trap/skeet range with the cutesy little leather fobs on their "golf shoes" for resting the shotgun muzzle. THAT would be a little messier, I'm sure.
