Didn't go to Howard Co. or York but I still Finned
Picked this up from an individual, the price was right and it included the bayo. Doesn't have the D mark on the barrel but the bore is just super, not counterbored or recrowned and it has Russian wood and bolt, and an American receiver and barrel. The M91s were the weapons that saw the most use during the winter and continuation wars, so this has probably been through a lot.

Yes, both Remington and New England Westinghouse made rifles for the last Czar and some were delivered, but when the Czar got toppled many were stuck here because the contracts were cancelled. Originally they all were built with walnut stocks, but the Finns switched many parts on their rifles. Most that remained here got sporterized or converted to 30-06 because the Russian ammo was not readily available. I paid $225 for this which is average for an unscrubbed M91 but it had an original Tula dragoon lock ring bayonet with it which is probably worth $75-$100. If you can find these still in Walnut they are really pretty expensive. So to answer your question, they run about the same prices as other Finn mixmaster M91s.

Congratulations! At $225 you did extremely well. Finn'd NEWs have been selling in the $300-350 range in today's market. I should know, I've been stalking one for a while now! They can be difficult to find in good, unbubba'd condition here in MD.
Won this American NEW in a west coast auction last week. I'm crossing my fingers that when it arrives everything is correct, just cannot tell from the photos if the stock has been sanded or not. |

A neighbor of mine had a Remington Moisin that was issued to his father-in-law who served as a merchant seaman on the Murmansk runs during WWII. At the end of the war, he was allowed to purchase his rifle for next to nothing and when I saw it a few years ago, it was beautiful and still in nearly unissued conditioned.

Actually this one came out of a local shopper paper called the Valley Trader, turns out a long time ago the seller used to be a gun dealer, he had an ex-sniper Enfield, German K98 Mausers, Romanian and Yugo SKS rifles, Garands and all kinds of other stuff, but I'm really only a Mosin guy, so this was my pick. Had to go all the way to Edinburg VA to get it.
