Pursuit of MD CCW
I found this to be a good read about one mans pursuit of a MD CCW I read on Glock Talk. Sorry if it's a repost.

A valiant effort! You know that if they wouldn't issue you a permit, it is a lost cause in Maryland until the laws are changed. Stay safe.

I have read that before. Disheartening isn't it?

HB2? At least it's at the top of the list so we don't have to hold our collective breath!
Do they hear the bills in order? Or is it just a cluster-f as I suspect? __________________ "The political class is far beyond the ambition of ordinary thieves. They hear them when the chairman (Vallerio) of the committee chooses to schedule them, not in numerical order

They will hear them in the order most likely to inconvenience us.

Yeah, I used to have a little bit of a temper, but I've never hit anyone or gotten into a fight. I've yelled at my dad and things like that, and if you asked him he might say I have "instability" when arguing with him.
But anyone else would say I'm usually calm cool and collective. I realize the difference between arguing passionately (punched a few holes in walls as a teen) and a propensity for violence, and I've grown up a bit. __________________ "The political class is far beyond the ambition of ordinary thieves. As far as I'm concerned if you pass the background checks and can handle the 7 day wait and all the other garbage to buy a handgun in this state( friday please hurry and get here, I want my XD9 LOL), that should be all that is required to trust you with carrying concealed. If you can be trusted to buy and own the firearm, why do these lawmakers then think you can't be trusted to carry it?
BTW did you all see about the woman in Baltimore, Caroline St I think it was ( my mother says thats a "good" area), who was forced from her car into an alley and raped? No mention was made of the rapist showing a gun. So if said woman had a ccw she would have been able to one-up that bastard. |

(ii) has good and substantial reason to wear, carry, or transport
a handgun, such as a finding that the permit is necessary as a reasonable precaution against apprehended danger]. I'd think that leaves everything open to interpretation just like before. If the Secretary believes that "substantial reason" is death threats, rape ect. then we've gained nothing. Am I way off base here? |
